i live about fifteen minutes away from the wva line, eastern panhandle. white poverty in wva is nowhere close to myth status; white generational poverty is very real in wva and very prevalent.

I have concluded the reason these people stay in poverty is because the Gov't gives them just enough to get by.

Their great grand fathers LEFT poverty and came to WV to find a job and a life, today the "comfortable poverty" the Gov't provides

prevents that relocation from happening today and so these people stay in areas which have no future.

Again if poverty was so steep, we would not have left there with boxes of food... much of it that healthy fruit you people swear poor folks want to eat but just can't afford.

This is why I scoff when I see these wild claims that 1 in 5 people are hungry in this country.

Here I was in one of the poorest places in the country and we could not GIVE food away even after advertising our coming, beforehand.
