Bringing my wedding dress into the cabin??

1. I will bring my wedding dress and wedding shoes. I'm planning to take it with me in the cabin cuz i want to avoid something will happen to it like missing or left at Japan or Dallas. I just don't comfortable to put it in the baggage since the wedding is in 6 days after my arrival.

Is it allowed to do it? Will they charge me?

2. I'm also confuse about the statement says in the flight info, it says "up to two bags free"

What does it mean? Does it mean i can bring two bags (each is 50 lbs) in the luggage or i can bring two bags into the cabin? I'll fly with Japan airlines to Japan before switch to American Airlines to US, how heavy is the bag we can bring into the cabin?

Normally is up to two bags with a weight of 50 lb each in documented luggage per person and a carry on standard bag that fits in the cabin

Don't see any problem with bringing your wedding dress in a suit bag as carry on too... they don't charge more for that, at least in mexico international airlines.

Is your fiance coming with you on your way here??? I had that chance with my now husband traveling with me so i bring four pieces of 50 lb in documented luggage and three carry on bags

You should just enquire with the airline (about your wedding dress). Some will give extra allowance for special items like that, others will charge. others just take it as one of your allowed pieces of baggage. It might even be on the website.

Just to let you know Virgin Atlantic do NOT hang up weding dresses unless your travelling in upper class. You would be required to fit it into your hand luggage or check it in in a suticase marked as "fragile weddign garments" (would need to be within ur baggage allocation)

[October 10th] - London Approves and Issues our Visa!!

Thanks for the feedback, friends :)

I'll check more with the Japan Airlines and American Airlines since i'll fly with those airlines.

My fiancé will be with me so it will be great if we can bring all stuffs i need and i can bring my wedding dress into the cabin for free ;)

Look. The customs guys aren't stupid. You're entering on a K1 with a WEDDING DRESS. They will understand you may have some other items (favours) with you for the wedding.
