No, both of you. Passport stamps show to adjudicator that you're both already met in person. They would match the entries and exits on both of your and fiance's passports. Passport stamps just a few things of evidence you need to present to them

If you don't mind my asking, what other supporting documents your fiance would send ensemble into the I-129F?

I mean my fiance' came to Thailand and we met. So, the stamp is only in his passport. I do send other documents such as our text messages, whatsapp messages, whenever we skype and a lot of our pictures together and we also explain when, where and who the pictures are taken.

My question is do I need to send my passport copy, too? I thought only my fiance who is the US citizen needs to send a copy of his passport.

As far as I remember, copy of passport is not require for US citizen. Only birth certificate. People include passport stamps to show they have already met in person. If he visited you in Thailand, pictures of you and fiance are together is sufficient.

I included Skype chats, not too much since most of time we do video calling, emails, gift receipts. Also Skype subscription when I calling him on cellphone or landlines. If you have a time, go to my friends list. I have a friend there also from Thailand. She's already married to Thai. You probably need some tips from her since her then-fiance also from Thailand.

Good luck!

Thank you very much for your help. You are very kind. Who is your friend from your friendlist... May I know her username so that I can add and message her?...

Make sure you take screen shots whenever you used the webcam to skype, gift receipts and emails are good also. I put all of the evidence in 2 separate folders. One says, "Proof of having met in 2 years" and the other says, "Proof of an ongoing relationship"... I know I am crazy but I just want to be fully prepared. We also printed out all our text messages and whatsapp chats which is like 200 pages :S... I think what you are providing for them is enough but make sure you send pictures of you and your fiance' together, too. Good luck on your journey :D

Her username Ni-ing&Ice. Yup, we already have a lot screenshots of Skype,idea9dv.gif . But, I will use it as for ongoing relationship in my K-1 visa interview. But, it does not harm to front-loading your I-129F with many supporting documents to make you feel safe.

Yes, since I am the one that keep all records like pictures, emails, etc, I am actually gave him advised how to ensemble our I-129F. He just followed what I wantluv.gif , . He was a bit resistant about VJ website though because he works in government agency and for him the valid information has to be from official government website only.

Anyway, just keep posted for anything. And good luck!rose.gif

My fiance' and I have prepared everything that we need to send our I-129f package tomorrow. I have read from

Step-by-Step Guide on How to File for a K-1 Visa that we need to make TWO copies of the entire package before we send it in. Why is that? Is it okay if my fiance' just scan the paper works he filled in and email them to me instead of printing out the entire package?... what about our photos that he sent.. should he print 2 copies also?

Yes its fine to have a scanned copy of the I-129F petition for your personal records. That is what I did, I did not make a printed copy. Two copies are not needed.

From what I've read, photos are considered "secondary evidence" only... basically they support your "primary evidence" by showing that you've met, but they don't really prove the "within the past two years" part (photos can be taken at any time). It's better to include anything you can that puts you in the same place at the same time. This can include boarding passes, receipts from credit card purchases, passport stamps, etc. The more evidence you provide, the better, but definitely include more than just photos!!!

(Side note: If the USC doesn't have their birth certificate, or their birth certificate is in an old name, then the passport can be used to confirm citizenship instead of the birth certificate.)

I made one copy of the I129F packet for my own records, but our embassy doesn't require the beneficiary to come to their interview with a copy of the packet. Your embassy might, but you can just make one copy, scan it, and send it to the beneficiary for their use during the embassy interview. (Edit: I kept the electronic copies of the photos included in the application in a separate folder on my computer for reference, but did not print a second copy of those out.)

It is good to have a copy of the entire package, one as a backup and also because when your fiance goes to the interview they have to show all the information again including photos and also all the papers that you receive during the process such as RFE (request for evidence), and what ever you send them back in case you receive one. It is also good to take to the interview the NOA1 and NOA2 and any letters you receive after the NOA2. When I did my research it said that everything must be signed in Black Ink, and I didn't have any problems with that. Good luck in the process.

They don't accept scanned papers otherwise you would get an RFE. They want "originals" with signed on it. Someone gave me advise that I should use blue ink instead black one because they would think it is scanned papers when we use black ink for signature. Good luck!

I actually sent quite a few scanned documents, no problem. I-134, and letters of intent - also a few more, just cant remember which ones.

i think its better to have your fiance send a copy of his passport cuz it proves that he's a US citizen and it would be considered primary evidence of having met within the last two years (because of the visa stamps and etc). also the passport will cover him in case you guys get a uscis adjudicator that prefers original birth certificates instead of copy of birth certificate. you guys should also keep a copy of all your paperwork in your file in case USCIS or NVC or the embassy loses any of your paperwork, you can just make a quick copy and send it in right away. if they lose it it's still on you two to provide them with the lost paper work.

Interesting. Thank you for the info. I was reading somewhere, it says must be original and not scanned ones especially for letter intent of marry. But, I guess was wrong.

It's basically just a copy for yourself to make sure you have something to reference on if there are any issues. Best of luck!!! dancin5hr.gif

Here's my suggestion. Make two copies of everything you are turning in. (2 complete sets of the entire package. Cover page an all) Your fiance mails you one COMPLETE SET (just in case he cannot make it to the interview) and he keeps ONE COMPLETE SET.(In case yours gets lost in mail, etc...

Also I learned the hard way, fill out and SIGN ORIGINAL SET OF DOCUMENTS leaving the date blank. This way if something gets lost, needs to be changed in the event of an RFE or misplaced by USCIS or NVC a "NEW ORIGINAL" can be sent out quickly from the person closest to the US offices....

As far as I am concerned you cannot have too many copies. Just my thoughts...

Oh and by the way. One complete set was lost by the Philippines Post office so the back up set came in very handy. I would never again mail anything via Post Office from US because once it hits Philippines the US Post Office has nothing to do with it. I subsequently used FedEx and no problems. Always get a tracking number and follow the package/envelope.

What is an ID page? Is it the page in the passport that has your picture on it?...

I copied every page of my passport, including the front cover and back, inside and out. They know how many pages are in a passport so they had no questions about my passport and the stamps therin.

Wow, I also work for the government and I tell you what....thank God for VJ...the government sucks at providing information. If it were not for VJ I am quite sure that I would not have gotten my wife here in the US in 8 months to the day from our initial application. If I had relied on the government I am sure we would not be together yet. Just saying...GOOD LUCK and GOD BLESS you both.
