looks like they missed the first order and had to resubmit it. No harm no foul. Now your card will be valid to 2/20/2024.

Nah, don't think so. Your GC will expire ten years from now with same day/month as the initial issue of the conditional GC.

which is why it doesn't really matter for ROC when you get approved, be it 9 days, 9 weeks or 9 months etc, You will still be able to file N-400 90 days before 3rd anniversary of being a PR (i.e initial conditional GC issue date +3 years - 90 days)

The card will read:

Card Expires: 2/20/2024

Resident Since : (date of initial card issue)

That's how ours just arrived. We can still apply for citizenship 90 days before the 3rd anniversary of initial entry to the US. But the actual green card will be valid for 10 years after the date that the new card is ordered for production.

Yes, your letter stating that your gc was extended for a year proves your legal status in USA and you can use it to renew your DL. Don't just wait for a gc. Sometimes it just takes a bit longer. Be patient, and best of luck!!

My letter states that my case was transfered to CSC from Vermont where I applied. thats it. it does not say anywhere that my staying here was renewed for a year.

I called USCIS and the rep told me that they are actually working on cases filed in july. so I have more waiting to do. but that it seems suspicious when confronted with the list we have in this forum. hmmm

anyway I did a infopass and I have an appointment the Feb 26 so hopefully they will stamp my pass with a year renewal.

sounds like something got lost in the mail. The extension letter should be the first communication you received from USCIS. It basically confirms that they received your packet and payment and allows you to relax knowing however long it takes them to process, transfer, request info etc.. on your case your residence is still legally extended. They would have sent that within a week of mailing your packet and before transfering your case.

Infopass is the right move.

Strange. Our cards were delivered and in our hands on the 20th. We just recieved another status update saying that the usps picked up a package from uscis on Feb 21st and our cards will arrive within the next 7 days. However, the tracking number provided is the same one as before and it does show that the cards were delivered on the 20th. Weird.

Just moments ago:

On February 26, 2014, we ordered production of your new card. Please allow 30 days for your card to be mailed to you.

Two days after a "retirement advisor" showed up at our front steps (which never happened before), offering financial advice to my wife... and she responds that her husband is employed in the same field. He thanked her and walked away. Was that our official interview?? :)

That is correct. Email arrived this evening 7:30 EST. This guy rang the bell two days ago. I am convinced it had to do with this case, considering the local USCIS is around the block from our house.

Congratulations A_at_J for your approval. We have filed on the same date too pretty much , i didn't hear anything from them yet.I asked my lawyer yesterday he said most of the files from Vermont were sent to Missouri office (Yeah they didn't notify us i guess thats how they roll) where the USCIS had hired 900 employees to do the job although they were untrained (so it took a little more longer) and from there bunch of cases like ours were sent to California.

On February 27, 2014, we ordered production of your new card. Please allow 30 days for your card to be mailed to you. If we need something from you we will contact you. If you move before you receive the card, call customer service at 1-800-375-5283.

how long before I get my GC in my mail box?
