Hi everyone..

I have been looking for hotels around St Luke's Clinic and around the Embassy for my fiancee so she can stay there before her day of appearance. I have been finding hotels that require the card used to be present of arrival to help prevent fraud. So my question is what good, clean, cheap..and I am talking around $40 a night for 2 people, with me not being the other person, hotel can I pay for here and have them not ask for the card once they arrive?

I want to take care of all expenses here in the US and have them not worried about paying for the hotels. And of course they have to be close to the Clinic and Embassy..

Thanks for any help on this

Additional info for Agoda..

They have an option(checkbox) that what you are booking is for other person.

If this is the case, most probably your card won't be asked.. Maybe just the front photocopy of it..

Or you can look at other online booking sites like Booking.com and Expedia.. See their terms and pick what best suits you.. smile.png

My fiancée stayed at the Lotus Garden. Walking distance to SLEC and was $40 a night, $45 if you include breakfast buffet. My fiancée said the rooms were nice and the customer service was great.

Just out of curiosity, I hear questions like this a lot.

why don't you just send her the money . Seems like 1 neat little Xoom, transaction would be so easy ?

The main reason I don't send her money for this is because she does not live in Manila. She lives in Ormaoc. She will not travel to Manila until it is closer to the time of her appointments. Another reason is that I want to get it somewhat early enough so the room is reserved with a good price now, not worry about having them jack up the price in Dec.

I have also seen a required $100 deposit on some hotels. I thinks through the help I am getting here the best way to go about getting the hotel room is through an travel wed site like Agoda. The less they have to worry about the better..

Hotel Soriente

, right across St. Lukes, mom and fiancee stayed there. About $35/ night and I booked/paid online from the US. Pretty clean and book a twin so there are 2 twin beds. Did this twice last month for medical/interview and not a problem.

I would second sending her the money, she can pick it up wherever she lives. It will be cheaper for her to book a room than you, you get foreigner screwed on prices. I think I sent my fiance 250 for each trip to Manila which was enough to buy new luggage and other stuff too.

Same here . I always just sent my wife money and she got her room, tickets etc. She always got a better deal than I could, and I did not have to go thru all the hassles.

Even for the ticket here, she found one there and I sent the money..Soooo Easy
