so to keep things short...

my fiancee and i live in CA. she arrived into the U.S. (via K-1) last week. we plan on traveling to NY, FL, & WA this weekend.

is there going to be a problem if:

1) she applies for a SSN in NY (or any other state)?

2) we get married in (for example) Las Vegas?

She will have a better chance applying for her SSN in California where she lives, however it will take the USCIS a couple of weeks after her arrival to have her information transferred over to the SSO, which means you should not expect them to be able to accept her application for a SSN anytime soon.

Suggestion: She will not need a SSN to get married in Vegas, so enjoy the trip, get married and when you're back home take her to the SSO to get her SSN application filed.
