Ours was approved on August 8th and did exactly what you did. Later I called USCIS and they told me that wait for 90 days before they can do anything. I just called NVC yesterday and they told me wait for another week or two, it can take 8-10 weeks. Good luck !!!!!!

NOA2 on Aug 1st

Still waiting on NVC and I call daily.

It's very irritating to be stuck in limbo.

We got our approval notice on Jul/30/2013

It was shipped to NVC on 8/8/2013

Processed in the NVC system (nvc case number assigned) on Aug/28/2013

Both USCIS and NVC representatives tend to give much longer waiting time than normal !!! They intend not to promise anything! Which is very frustrating ranting33va.gif

By the way, I know for sure that 8/8/2013 shipment was HUGE so many boxes full of approved cases! So my guessing is that NVC is still working on them! because they need to put each case information manually on the system.

You're in line! don't worry :)

Good luck!

Thanks. It should be the case with most countries. In Tokyo extension of NOA2 needs to be requested via written letter.

Update-

NOA2: AUG 7

CSC sent out file: SEP 4

assigned NVC case#: SEP 12

Relief, as we read somewhere it took more than 20 days for NVC to log cases in their system!

Did they really contact USCIS on your behalf? Any word from them? I'm wondering now if USCIS screwed something up and it's still sitting there and the NVC isn't even who I should be dealing with.

Would appreciate knowing any updates you may have heard from them.

Hello!

I just hung up with the NVC (after several busy tones and a 30 minute wait, which actually wasn't as long as I was expecting), and the woman informed me that they have NOT received our NOA-2 petition approval yet and that it will take 8 WEEKS.

I have never heard that the wait would be 8 weeks. The USCIS does not even state this long of a wait, I believe. I'm curious if anyone knows if this is the normal amount of time or if I just wasn't speaking to a very informed person.

Basic info:

Our petition was approved August 12th, It being September 5, that's almost 4 weeks waiting. Any advice? Should I call back and ask a different representative?

Thank you!

Update 9/13/13:

Called NVC again today and they said our case was just forwarded to the consulate in Japan TODAY, and she gave me our new case number. Woo hoo! I hope this will be helpful to everyone else who received NOA-2's around the time we did. Soon I hope you will get good news!
