I have to compliment you. You're a very good dancer.

I have no idea what you think I have been arguing if it's not what I put down in my posts. It is not a civilians job to decide who is and who isn't a criminal. It is fine for a civilian to protect themselves and their family from harm. It's not a good idea to encourage civilians to put themselves into situations where they feel it is appropriate to confront criminals and it is never a good idea to confront criminals unless there is an imminent danger to life. I do not see how that's difficult to understand.

There's alot of obvious things you do not see. Sometimes I think you have one of these running your keyboard:

Homer used one of those as a fill in for him at his computer. Long story short, he nearly caused a meltdown. And he got really fat.

Now you just compared her to Homer Simpson. I see a thread ban coming your way. tongue.png

:), very cute but you didn't really address anything I said. Was I not clear enough that time?

I'm playing your game. Let's talk about the Chinese Central Banks refusal to float their currency on the open market.

You've gone off on some special tangent of your own again. Why do you think random stats on recidivism rates are relevant here, now? Where exactly have I said or implied that if you are in a life threatening situation you just have to sacrifice yourself? I did say that it is a bad idea to allow civilians to have a free pass to kill intruders, stand your ground and home is a castle laws are bad laws and lead to events that should never happen.

It is a bad idea to lead civilians to believe they can do the same job as a properly trained professional and it is a bad idea to advocate confronting criminals as if doing so were a right or even an obligation. Unless you are in a situation where your life or the life of your family etc is in immediate and imminent danger, retreat to a safe area is the best and most prudent course of action and in everyone's best interests. I don't think any rational and sane person can take the life of another human being without having to pay an emotional price for doing so Contrary to folk lore belief there isn't valuable human life and disposable criminal life. Those distinctions are only made by people who lack emotional connection, or have psychopathic tendencies.

You're the one parading the process of convict, "segregate", and release like it's some fantastic civilized method of deterring crime. The facts do not support your views on this. You are the one advocating a "reatreat, wait, and see what happens" approach for victims who are in the process of being victimized. Missing is your insightful and witful opinion of where the hell you are supposed to retreat to in your own home but whatever.

A person who has chosen to victimize others is disposable, not by choice of those they wish to victimize but by their own choice. The castle doctrine can be traced back to Rome. Choose to follow it for yourself or not. Your opinion of this doctrine 2000 years of established law does not matter a whit.

i don't get it.

You do know that to view criminals in this way as 'other' and 'inhuman' and 'disposable' aligns you with most of the more radical fascist dictators, don't you?

As for the Romans, the morality of Rome was very, very different to the morality of today's' USA. using that as an illustration of how civilised a law it is is nonsensical. Still I don't suppose reading or history are your thing, are they?

I'm playing your game. Let's talk about the Chinese Central Banks refusal to float their currency on the open market.

Why? It's a dead topic, almost 30 years now.

Want more financial fun? Purchase non-performing loan packages at auction, from Hong Kong.

Now THOSE are fun to do. Minumum of 20 million to play in that market.

Armed with the tremendous power of Google Fiber, I'd think people in Kansas City would be way too busy enjoying 1gbps internet to do this kind of nonsense. *shrug*

Absolutely ! Real-Time Porn delivery at it's best. It's incredible, amazing, and apparently very well done.

All Hail Google Fiber !

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
