I have a unique situation, Last year my husband was approved and got to come home, now we are filing for my stepchildren and have gotten to the I864. Ok here it is, the same day husband found out he was approved I was diagnoised with stage 3 colon cancer. The best and the worst at the same time. I was very sick and had to go through extensive treatments(radiation and chemo) but I beat it! Unfortunately I also missed 11 months of work. During my treatment and recovery I was drawing short and long term disability, and of course he was working. So my income alone is not enough to qualify as a sponser for 2 children. Our combined incomes do however. I can do a cosponser with husband but because he was in Guatemala for 3.5 years without an income he only has the one year. Can we do this? I have letter from my employer showing my annual salary and it is more than enough to qualify, but I do not think they will accept this? any help would be appreciated. The children finish their school year in October and we would like to have them come home with us at Christmas.
