IMPORTANT NOTICE TO IMMIGRANT VISA APPLICANTS

Effective September 1, 2013, the DS-260, Online Immigrant Visa Application & Registration, and DS-261, Choice of Address and Agent will replace the paper-based DS-230, Application for Immigrant Visa and Alien Registration (parts I and II) and the DS-3032, Choice of Address and Agent. The DS-260 and DS-261 are fully integrated online electronic visa application forms used to collect the necessary application information from persons seeking immigrant visas. These online forms are completed and submitted online to the Department of State via the Internet through the Consular Electronic Applications Center (CEAC). The forms may be partially completed, saved online to finish, and submitted later; or the forms can be completed and submitted in a single session.

To determine if your petition began processing in time to join the program and to access Form DS-260, Online Immigrant Visa Application, and Form DS-261, Choice of Address and Agent, click Consular Electronic Application Center (CEAC) website. After logging in, follow the directions displayed noting the following:

  • If CEAC provides you with the option of completing a DS-260 (note it may be grayed-out because you have not paid your Immigrant Visa Fee), you are required to complete the DS-260.
  • If CEAC provides you with online payment information only, you are NOT required to complete the DS-260.
  • If your petition did not go through the NVC process (for example, you filed your petition overseas), your invoice ID number will be the principal applicant’s date of birth (YYYYMMDD).

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) - Review the DS-260 FAQs if you must complete the online DS-260 form.

If you have questions or need assistance, please click Online Immigrant Visa Forms or contact the NVC.

Immigrant and Fiance(e) Visa applicants with previously scheduled appointments and who were affected by the recent inclement weather are encouraged to follow the recommended action outlined below:

If you were unable to reschedule your appointment and/or arrive at the U.S. Embassy on August 19, 20 & 22, please contact our visa information service at 02-982-5555 or 02-902-8930 to schedule an appointment for a date that matches your availability. The Visa Information and Appointment Service is open Monday through Friday, from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. (Manila time), except on Philippine and U.S. holidays. Please have your case number, passport number, and passport expiry date for each applicant (principal applicant and derivative family members) ready when requesting for a visa appointment, even if you already provided this information at an earlier date.

Welcome to the Immigrant Visa Unit Homepage

You should be able to find answers to many of your questions about the immigrant visa process on this website. If you are interested in filing a petition for a fiancé (e) or family member, please see the Who can apply for an Immigrant Visa and see what steps you need to take to begin this process. If you have already filed a petition or have had a petition filed for you, and your case is current, please see the Immigrant Visa Appointment section on the left side of this page. If you have questions about a specific case, or after reviewing this information have other questions, please contact the Immigrant Visa Unit by fax, e-mail, or mail.

Notice to K Visa Applicants

The Immigrant Visa Unit only accepts K visa applicants (K1, K2, K3, and K4) who have completed DS-156, DS-156K (for K1 applicants only), DS-157, and DS-230 application forms. Application forms are available at http://manila.usembassy.gov/wwwh3224.html and should be completed in advance of the appointment. Any K applicant without completed application forms who appears for an interview will be referred to nearby internet cafés to complete the application forms. For your convenience, applicants who can complete the forms and return to the Embassy by 10:00 am will still be interviewed that same day. Applicants who cannot or choose not to return to the Embassy with the completed forms by 10:00 am will be advised to reschedule the interview by visiting the online appointment website at http://www.ustraveldocs.com/ph or by calling the Call Center at (632) 982-5555 or (632) 902-8930.
