Good night to all, hope I'm asking in the right place. Our I-130 has gotten approved this past Monday, I want to know must I resend all proof to NVC that I have sent when I first submitted the I-130? should I prepare the affidavits of support now, even though I haven't gotten any notification from NVC as of yet? Do I or my husband get a notification first? or are they only gonna contact him? Thank you guys for reading in advance....hope to hear feedback

Congratulations.

Come here to the NVC filers thread read post 31 and #2.

http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/451446-nvc-filers-september-2013/

NVC all documents have to be originals or certified copies of originals. So yes you would have to send to the, no matter what you sent to USCIS.

Sure yo can start get your Affidavit of support together and his DS-230 package together. Read the two post so you know what to do soon as you get case#.

Do not wait for NVC to contact you. next week start calling NVC (on monday should be good) and call every few days or whenever until you get it.

Now that you know that you've been approved, gather all your documents needed as it takes time. Do not wait to hear from NVC. My fiancé dragged and we had to hustle to do everything and then the KNG embassy gave us the in around and left us with exactly two weeks to get his medical for his interview. So get all the necessary documents together which will release a lot of pressure and stress for this next stage. Be sure you meet the requirements for your affidavit if support, if not you will need to get a co-sponsor. Gather your taxes and W2's.

Congrats on your approval. I did this process like 2yrs ago and still doing it. Usually, once you get the approval, you have to wait for at least 60days for the file to get transfer from USCIS to NVC (unless the process has changed). Once NVC receives the file, they assign a case# KNG (since its for Jamaica). They will send you or email you the invoice to

1. Pay AOS fee

2. Sent AOS support documentation

3. Invoice for IV bill

4. Choice of Agent form

5. Send Civil Documentation including DS-260

Once all documentation has been received, they will schedule an appointment. If you put yourself as the main contact on the choice of agent form including an email address, all correspondence will be directed to you.

Be well prepared for the visa interview. I wish you good luck on your journey

For K1 we no longer do the DS230 which we could send in before packet 3. But with the new DS260 you need an invoice number along with the case number. Since we don't pay the fee for K1 at the NVC, how will it work now. Does that mean now that we cannot complete the DS260 until we get instructions from the embassy? This only changed this month so I don't think anyone has been through this new process yet, but if you have please share.
