withdraw petition

I think many of the cases like this are scams. By scam, I mean that the Filipina girls want to go to the U.S., and are interested in marrying an American man only for that reason.

I would say it's very likely this is the case. Don't be surprised if she'll arrive in the U.S., marry you, get her green card, wait two years, then cut off the relationship and bring her real love and her baby's father to the U.S. with her, while claiming some kind of support or some other way to extort money from you.

Cut it off. Find someone you can be sure is completely committed to you, for reasons other than wanting a better life.

I am making up the letters now and plan to mail them today . What would be best to write ? I would like to inform the USCIS that I wish to withdraw my I-129F for the beneficiary (NAME ) and her child( NAME). No reason given would that hurt me later if I met another and they questioned the withdrawn petition ?

It might hurt you, but it would hurt you less than going through with the marriage for it only to be a scam, and then re-apply with a different lady from the same country.

Just state the obvious.

You are ending the relationship, you are withdrawing your support, and you are suspending any further work on immigration forms and submissions.

Write it up as a formal letter and send it by certified mail.

That's what I did.

Send it to the attention of the director of the unit your papers are being handled by.

I sent at least 3 letters to the District Director of my field office to make sure they were received. I only had one response in the form of a standard letter that items were received. A little disheartening but it is something. My case was also copied to ICE and Homeland Security Investigations be cause of fraud.

Cover your bases. Protect yourself. Good luck.

Sincerely,

You need to determine if the case is still with USCIS, NVC or the US Embassy in the Philippines so you know where to send it. The letter must contain your USCIS receipt/NVC case number, your full name, date, address, phone number and your signature. Also include the full names of the beneficiaries and their birth dates. Have the letter notarized and then keep a copy of the notarized letter for your records. After you send it the the right office, you would need to wait about 2 weeks to maybe a few months for the written confirmation from them that the petition has been cancelled. I guess it depends on how busy they are?

It depends on the embassy if you need to notarize your letter or not, I say just notarize it, no harm in doing so. Same thing with putting the reason on the letter. Some people say its unnecessary, but it is up to you if you're comfortable with putting it on the letter. I don't think it will be a problem if you meet someone else. You did the States a huge favor of not letting a person into the country who doesn't deserve the visa :S

I just hope you are totally sure about this. If you two patch things up, you would have to do this all over again. I'm really sorry this happened to you. sad.png

I did not see where I could , so I sent an email . The Perdue oven popper has popped on this one LOL . I am so done with her and moving on . As the Muppets sang " Moving right a long ! "

Good for you! I am so sorry this happened to you. Don't give up on the Philippines. There are thousands of women there that are serious and want to get married and live happily ever after. You will be fine.
