Background check clearance stage on I-129F

I just got an update that on August 30, my case was pending background check clearance. What does this means? All I have in my record is about two driving tickets in the 7 years I had my driver license. Wendy, never even had a ticket while she was here and nothing on her country either.

Then you should be fine. They still have to do a background check on both of you.

it means your file is on a desk.. that is a good thing, otherwise it would be under initial review

Does the background check appear as a different status on the USCIS website or its just an update email that a person gets? Mine is still showing initial review,so I guess that means it hasn't been touched or processed at all?

To TBoneTx, I was reading your timeline signature and I saw how specific your updates were. Were these info released to you when you called them? If so, what number did you call please? So that I can ask my fiance to do the same. Thanks!

ok when they do petitioner's background check that is understandable but how they do beneficiary's background check if beneficiary is in his home country and never been in the US?

Homeland Security is the one that does the job in the background checks since it is a division of FBI and has its ways to check in every country (don't ask how, I have no idea), that office was founded precisely to avoid high criminals and terrorists since 9/11. So the background check starts locally to international to both petitioner and beneficiary, if there is no problem and everything is all clear, then the application should pass.

Traffic tickets and accidents are not important, they don't care about it.

The only updates I see for your petition type are when the petition moves. as I understand the process your case will show review until there is movement (not always updated), produces a rfe or outright approval
