Hi all -

First of all, apologies for the radio-silence the past few weeks; I decided that, for the sake of my sanity, I had to cut myself off from VJ for a bit. Being among the last waiting on an NOA2, I was getting dangerously obsessive helpsmilie.gif

To all of you who have received good news in the interim, very heartfelt congratulations!

I am happy to report that we can FINALLY (after 6 months and 1 week, ouuuuuf!) share in the excitement...we received our text/email notification of NOA2 approval late last night!

Maybe the universe was just waiting for us to be together to receive the news. I had just arrived in Qatar to see R. early that day dancin5hr.gif

Thank you, thank you, thank you to all of you who were so helpful with emotional support and wise advice as we freaked over the delay. We're fairly certain that it was the Senator weighing in that finally tipped the balance...for future reference, Maine's Constituent Services Rep is incredible!

On to the NVC...I can finally shift my research to the next phase, wohooooo! I hear we pick up the pace from here on out?

Just finished our interview in Moscow. It was approved, and both my fiance and I are extremely happy. It was almost a three hour ordeal, but we did meet some very nice people in the immigrant visa area.

I should qualify this a little. When I said a three hour ordeal, I was referring to the wait time for the interview. My fiancé was one of the last three to be interviewed on Friday in the Immigrant Visa area, and the actual interview only took about five minutes.

I didn't want to scare any one.

Sorry to keep posting but I am really hoping someone can give me some insight or that someone has experienced a similar situation.

I've read that once the case creation changes and switches from an Immigrant Visa to a Non-Immigrant Visa, that things should be issued shortly after.

On March 19th, my case creation date changed and my status was READY (case is open). It said to check back after 2 business days. I checked today and well, my case was updated but still on READY (case is open). now it's saying to check back in 2 business days again.

I am looking for any help here, it's quite hard to stay positive when everyone else is getting approved and moving quickly and I am in limbo. I pray all day that the visa will be issued. Anything would help!

Is there an way you can reach the embassy by email to enquire about your status? If your case creatin date changed then you should be getting close. Have you posted this in the Canadian regional forum? That may be most helpful. Ours (in London) went from ready to AP then to issued. Hope everything gets sorted for you soon.

Hi, congratulations!!! Please can you tell me what is the meaning of EAD and AP???...i know AOS is for adjust of status... thank u..

EAD is the employment authorization doc. and the AP is the Advance Parole- it provides a non-immigrant K-1 visa holder permission to re-enter the United States while their Legal Permanent Resident Adjustment of Status (AOS) application is pending.

I looked it up...I'm not that smart

I looked it up...I'm not that smart

Thanks Yanet! Yes the EAD allows your spouse to work here in the US until the AOS is complete which can be several months. Annie is very anxious to get out of the house and get a job. The AP is required only if you need to travel out of the country before your status is adjusted. My son is getting married in Mexico so I want to make sure Annie can travel with me to the wedding. I hope everything goes quickly for you.
