Congrats!!! I just called after seeing your message and we got our case number now also. Funny, the lady we talked to yesterday was an a-hole and told us it would be 8 more weeks after they sent the package we would recieve our case number as they seemed to be delayed with an uptake of applications. Talk about misinformation. LOL! Who(benificiary or petitioner) receives the packet and in what form(email, mail etc)?

Thanks-

Yahoo Congrats to you, yeah i had the same experience yesterday with the lady on the phone, she said it will take 46 weeks, i thought its 4 to 6 weeks but she said again 46 weeks and i was shocked and told here are you sure its four six weeks that's like 1 yr!!!

Well no need to be bad about it now, cause there was a good news after all :)

Thanks! We needed the good news as my fiancee told me she would have to work most of the time I see her end of this month. Her job informed her of that today. Hopefully she can get out of that as we need to spend some time together and my Portuguese sucks so I would just be at her mom's house the whole time with nothing to do. LOL!

I received an email message on the 15th of November that I was approved.when I got my hardcopy it stated that notice date November 15' also valid from November 07 2013 to march 06 2014.

How could this be???how can it be valid on November 07 when I was still on initial review and I wasn't even approved at that time.

Hi! That's what I am reading. It could even be a box that was not checked correctly.

We included a full scan of passport of every single page; travel visa's i purchased to visit him; flight records for my 3 flights there; flight records for several flights inside the US together; photos from past 2 years including marathons and triathlons we completed together; engagement cards from family/friends; emails including our first correspondence when we met; whatapp messages and so on... the only thing i didn't include are electrical/cable bills with his name on them.

It could be something as simple as a checked box. The waiting is the hard part, but it's generally pretty quick to approval after the receipt of the missing piece. Hang in there.

What's the advantage of getting the case number ASAP? Don't we have to wait until it gets to the consulate, and they contact us for packet 3? (Which would include the case number)

Or is there something we can do with it in the meantime?

21 Sep 2013 - Filed i-129F

27 Nov - NOA2 email received (63 days since NOA1)

30 Jan 2014 - NOA2 sent to NVC (64 agonizing days) P.S. Apparently VJ doesn't care about accurate timelines.

11 Feb - Got Case number

24 Feb - Packet 3 Received and Submitted

25 Feb - Packet 4 Received and Submitted

29 Apr - Medical (Dr Cheema)

01 May - Vancouver Consulate Interview - Approved!

06 May - Visa in hand!

06 June - Entered the USA!

14 June - Married!

This K1 visa process, the USCIS and the NVC has been quiet an experience. Before I started this whole process I thought that after the NOA2, things were easy. So wrongggg!. September filers, whats more upsetting: A) Wait a few weeks for the important things to happen, i.e background checks completed, alien # assigned and NOA2 issued B) Knowing that nobody is working on your file and is just sitting somewhere waiting for God knows what to happen to get shipped out!!! I dont know, but I am more anxious now than before the NOA2, waiting for a number that will dictate how my next few months will be! Many things are depending on this number right now, a wedding, trip to go to the interview with my fiance , honeymoon, book time off from work. sad.png sad.png sad.png sad.png

I know the consulate were using doesn't allow you to go with to the Interview. Are you sure they allow you to attend?

We were able to schedule the medical, get all the police reports and sent off everything she needs. She still hasn't received a packet 3 from the Jerusalem consulate but we got the packet 3 off the website and did everything. Medical needed her JRS2013# so we had to have it to perform medical. Also, filed out the DS-160 online.

Congrats Josh! so when did USCIS shipped ur case out?

Thanks! Every time I ask them they just tell me they don't have that information. All I know is it arrived on the 4th.

So as I am moving forward it seems like what people are saying to do next is the DS-160, pay the visa fee, and schedule her medical exam right? I'm a little confused because the NVC agent I talked to today said to not do anything until the packet has arrived in manila. Is there a problem if she starts getting these things done right now?
