One business day after the interview....our status on CEAC website says "administrative processing" I called DOS and they also told me that was the case.

I was told I had an approved Visa at the interview and got the welcome to the USA letter.... has anyone else had this happen?

06/10/2013-NVC received our case

06/14/2013-MTL case number assigned

06/17/2013-Case sent to Montreal

06/21/2013-Packet 3 sent out

06/27/2013- Packet 4 sent out

08/30/2013- Interview Montreal
09/09/2013-POE- Grand Portage, MN.

09/10/2013-at home in Kentucky

10/12/2013- we are MARRIED!

03/04/2014- Used Advance Parole document to re-enter after a visit to Canada (without any issues)!

03/09/2014- checked USCIS website and saw update saying "Card/Document production" for I-485

03/13/2014-AOS approved. Received Welcome Letter (i-797)

03/17/2014-Green Card arrived in the mail

3/24/2017- Rec'd Greencard in the mail

I have seen this with other members as well

AP covers so many things it is hard to tell, but in your case it appears that AP is just the part where the visa is processed in the passport.. sit tight, I am sure you will get there quite quick

I have a question, do all visa's go through Administrative Processing before being issued? And then, some require "additional administrative processing?"



I was under the assumption that all visas will say "Administrative Processing" at some point whether it be for 2-3 days before saying "Issued" or for a long time while further processing is required.



Can anyone confirm this?

Our Visa now shows as issued. We have talked to several folks from DoS and confirmed that ALL visas go to Administrative Processing prior to being issued. Some just require additional processing, and in most cases that additional processing is required, you know before you leave the interview.

not sure about all visas going through "AP" but i'm very happy you got your visa!! smile.png

we have been in the dreaded AP for 10 months.

Wow so sorry to hear.. What was their reasoning?
