Another question for the amazingly helpful community!

Got NOA2 on 8/21.

Got email on 8/30 that they shipped out approved application to NVC.

I'm not sure when NVC would actually have the application. They say 8 weeks but I'm hoping it's not quite that long. The guy I talked to today was quite rude and not very helpful.

8 weeks is the scripted answer.. it takes more like 2-3

you should spend a ton more time reading up on your type of petition if you do not know it will route through the nvc. they will assign your case number which you will need for the embassy.

it wont stay there long, but it is part of the process

several operators at nvc are not so nice, but there are a ton that will tell you before you hang up .. it is an 8 week processing time, but call back as often as you like.

Figure about three weeks.

Phil (Lockport, near Chicago) and Alla (Lobnya, near Moscow)

As of Dec 7, 2009, now Zero miles apart (literally)!

I've been obsessively reading about the process so I'm pretty comfortable with what comes next, this part is just throwing me for a loop since VJ says 2-3 weeks and they say 8 on the phone. Plus I've seen a lot of posts talking about an NVC slowdown which had me concerned. I'll keep checking in, thanks for your help!

Awesome thank you so much!

Well, it depends... I got the email on Aug. 27, 2013 that my case was shipped to NVC. On Aug. 30, 2013, I call DOS and NVC, they got my case and gave me the case number. Hopefully it will be quick for you.

We're NOA2 (out of the CSC) on August 7.

It's been almost a MONTH since approval and NVC still hasn't gotten our case.

They only keep repeating "8 weeks" ....

I'm starting to think it just may actually take the 8 weeks they are saying ?
