I put in a service request on August 20th and called back on September 3rd (2 weeks later) and spoke with a Tier 2 representative. read to me contents of the letter (which I’m waiting to receive a hardcopy of).

I was transferred to TSC in June then received an RFE in July. I’m at 6.5 months mark in terms of the waiting time.

The service request response states that my case is pending on a security check. My question is, shouldn’t this have been done earlier on in the process? Should I be concerned that the background check is taking so long? What exactly are they checking in this background check? Is it just me (petitioner) or also my fiance?

Is it worth contacting anyone? If so, who should I contact?

if you have an rfe in the pipe then your file is on a desk being adjudicated.

you can get your representative involved or the omnibudsman, but chances are they will tell you to wait.

the tier2's don't always give the correct information, so it is best to call several times until you get two answers that match
