Ugh.. I know this process hard on everyone.. Especially those expecting a child sad.png

I have 4 step-children that I haven't even met yet...

I went mushroom picking today (got 15 lbs, thank you very much) so I have enough for Wigilia! a lot of wild mushrooms will be needed smile.png wild mushroom soup, wild mushroom pierogies mmm yummy smile.png

Btw, mushroom picking is Polish national sport and hobby, hah wink.png I love it, so peaceful and relaxing to be in the middle of the woods, looking for mushrooms. Love it!

AND found some blueberries too! kicking.gif And lingonberries. Delicious!

We got ours yesterday! Sent from Overland Park, KS.

I've read somewhere on VJ today that this Kansas facility is to be fully operational on Sept 28th. Which is Saturday, so more likely Sept 30th.

Also, when they opened the NBC in Lee's Summit, MO years ago, at the beginning their processing times were... 45 days.

So.. Let's hope this will happen again!

Fingers crossed. And toes too.

smile.png

You sound exactly like my wife, haha! She loves to pick mushrooms and I've never understood why. As we just don't do that over here in the states. :) Blueberry, do you know for sure if the Overland Park facility is solely for the processing of stand alone I-130s, or will it also be for Deferred Action cases? I read somewhere that it will be used for DCs but I'm not sure and can't seem to get a clear answer on that.

I did! Thank you though! Hopefully there will be a quick update. smile.png Hehe!

Yikes, Rysiu! That is really hard. I am sorry that it is so long between your visits, but completely understand how difficult that must be. My hubby and I won't see each other until about Christmas and I am whining. It must be hard for your wife with a baby on the way. By the way, how will that work if she gives birth before coming to the U.S.? Will you have to do something to get the baby in or will he/she be automatically granted citizenship through you? Congrats on the NOA1! smile.png

Congrats Asr18!

Congrats on the NOA1, Blueberry! Wow--4 stepchildren! That's a lot. My hubby has 2 grown kids that I haven't met yet, either...but they are college-age, so not much parenting to do there, for me. The mushroom picking sounds like fun. I love mushrooms! I bet you're finding a lot of varieties. Do you know which ones are safe and which to avoid? I heard some are poisonous.

I hope you get lucky with the new center, like it happened before. Heck! I hope I get lucky, too, with the new cases going to California! Good luck to us!!!! idea9dv.gif

It's alright. My wife and I are used to it by now, so it's the norm for us and we just expect it. It's extremely hard with the baby on the way, but we trust in God and know there was some reason He gave us this right after our marriage, believing it is a sign that everything will be alright. If that makes sense.

We'll be filing a Consular Record of Birth Abroad at the embassy in Warsaw and then the baby will get its passport that way through me. So mom, dad and baby will all be entering the U.S. at the same time. Baby and I will go through the passport line at the airport, and mom will go through the visa holder line. We'll then wait for her in baggage while they do their processing one final time. It will suck, but will be a great feeling knowing we're finally together as one big happy family and will never be torn apart again. :)

We're also September filers chicago lockbox received our petition today. smile.png

Does anyone know what time of day text/email notice comes?

Welcome Samni and Ashydad :)

Most of us here got out NOA1 email after 3 days. Ish. Then a hard copy a week later.

You sound exactly like my wife, haha! She loves to pick mushrooms and I've never understood why. As we just don't do that over here in the states. smile.png Blueberry, do you know for sure if the Overland Park facility is solely for the processing of stand alone I-130s, or will it also be for Deferred Action cases? Haha, I know American do not pick mushrooms. Same with Brits! Come on, guys, it's so much fun :)

Plus, they're quite expensive, especially right before Wigilia... ;)

You should try it. You might love it ;)

You got me all teared up... such a lovely and sweet post :) :) :)

Re: Overland Park.. In the "Interesting information.." thread, Sukie posted everything that is known at the moment. (For everyone not familiar with the thread : http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/454715-interesting-information-regarding-huge-delays-in-i-130-processing/page-4. Especially Sukie's post #54).

So, in sum, Overland Park will process I-90 (green card replacements, which, by playing with the receipt numbers on uscis, I've seen they have already been working on) AND stand-alone I-130s ONLY.

Ok, so given there will be 500 employees (not including contractors) and let's say .. 300 of them will be assigned to I-130s

Let's say their work day is 8 hours.

8 hours x 300 employees= 2400 hours= 144,000 minutes a day employees would have to process the petitions

It takes 15-20 minutes to adjudicate one case. But let's say it will be 60 minutes for each (I mean, come on, let's be realistic.. :P they're new, still confused and in training )

144,000/60= they could go through 2400 cases a day

Given USCIS received over 100,000 cases in the first quarter of 2013, it's safe to assume there is a 100,000 cases in Overland Park right now. (filed from May - Sept)

100,000 cases, overall / 2400 cases a day = 42 days. Minus weekends and holidays... circa 55? days should take them to adjudicate all cases they have at the moment.

But let's double it, to be an a safe side.. 2-3 months. We could all be approved by Christmas.

BUT I suck at math BADLY so someone smarter please correct my calculations? :P

NBC= National Benefits Center (USCIS) (Dept of Homeland Security) (this is where I-130 petitions are processed)

NVC= National Visa Center (Dept of State). (next stage; actual visa application and affidavit of support docs)

guides6ly.gifhttp://www.visajourney.com/content/i130guide1

Did you get NOA1 via email or NOA1 hard copy? if a hard copy, at the bottom at the page it will say where was the petition sent to. Most likely Overland Park, KS.
