How long should it take to be approved after it gets transferred? Is there anything else we need to do if/when it does?

It depends on the center, but it appears that CSC is averaging anywhere from 6-18 days.

Be proactive! My hubby will be visiting next month and I asked him to bring all the documents I will need to file for the NVC stage. Get yourself familiar with information for the next stage in the first post of this thread: http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/478133-nvc-filers-february-2014/ - It's a very helpful read!

Even if we qualify for electronic processing, I'd rather have the documents ready for me to scan rather than having to wait for them to come in the mail after NOA2 approval and then sending them off. Otherwise, there's not much else to do after you're transferred except call USCIS to find out what center you went to if you want to know where you stand as far as processing statistics based on other user's data.

I hope this means we can be finished before my working holiday visa is up by the end of July, filing for a new visa would be hard.

So, are you the U.S. citizen filing for your spouse and living in Australia with them while this is process is going on? If you don't mind me asking, are your parents going to sponsor your spouse because you are not currently working? That is my case as well. :) It is nice to see other people in similar situations.

Yes, I'm working here on a working holiday visa. My parents were going to have to sponsor him even if I had stayed in the us because my job didn't put me above the poverty line (sad I know). We filed everything from Australia in September. We also found a good attorney to help us through the process

Thank you for sharing. I am not working here in Mexico so my parents (or possibly my sister) will definitely have to sponsor my spouse. We also filed our papers in September from here in Mexico but we did so without an attorney.

We thought about doing it solo, but when I looked over the paperwork it just looked too confusing, just trying to do the I-130 I had to call someone for an explanation

Yeah, it is a little confusing but when we found out that most attorneys were charging around $4,000, we decided we would try our best to do it solo.

Will all the transfers slow down the approvals or are they doing them as soon as they get them? Are any other centers even getting the initial petitions or are they all going to the NBC and now out to the other centers? Just curious.
