Yay!! I finally found the I-130 September 2013 filers! I don't know why I am so terrible at navigating this website. Yes, best of luck to everyone!

I am a USC waiting in Serbia with my husband. Our embassy here doesn't take visa applications anymore, so I am calling this week to verbally submit a request to be treated as a DCF and expedite for multiple fitting reasons.

Thank you all for your help. It is great to have some experienced support!

She also told me this may not help me and that we may be back in line. Lord help us!

Hi everybody

I have been following VJ since we submitted our I-130 in September. You are all so supportive of each other so wanted to join in and be part of it and hopefully provide words of encouragement. This is a very stressful situation we are all in.

We have been married for 16 years and have two children, ages 14 and 13 who are both US Citizens. My husband is a US Citizen and started his new job in September 1st. We haven't seen him since. He is coming over in January for two weeks and we are all looking forward to that.

We did live I. The USforseven years and I had a Green Card but it expired and I couldn't renew it because we had been back in Australia for seven years. So .. We have to go through the process again. Most frustrating.

Look forward to posting here regularly and see how we are all doing.

Welcome petar pan and msc13! Best of luck on your visa journeys!

I am debating writing to my senator since this is my 2nd visa journey since the first one (K1) was ridiculously backlogged and now they're speedier than ever while I'm stuck in another backlog. We've had the worst luck on the times when we filed. Sigh.

How's everyone else holding up? It's COLD here in Houston, TX right now. Hubby will be here for New Years for the first time during our "winter". I've always gone to London during the winter because I love the cold! :)

Does anyone's pripority date is sept 10 2013 and there application has moved forward. My spouse from india.

You don't have to worry about Priority date as your wife is in the IR/CR category and spouse of a US citizen.

Priority dates apply only to spouse of Legal Permanent Residents (LPR or Green card holders).

How come you got approved and reached into final stage so fast. What did you do to speed up

Because they're a green card holder petitioning for their spouse. Doesn't make any sense....

It doesnt make any sense at all f1 visa ,h1, b1 all these visa can there spouse and children while they come to usa and USA citizens cannot bring there spouse and kids on visiting visa also. And now even green card holder can get there spouse and kids with few months but citizens has to wait for years and months. This is really very bad.

It depends on the service center and makes sense based on the service center where your I-130 goes to. Standalone I-130's filed by LPR's goes to CSC/TSC/VSC. I-130's with concurrent I485 goes to NBC (again for LPR's). Off late CSC which used to take 2yrs to approve an I-130 are approving at a faster rate starting July/August. I-130 with respect IR/CR petitions aren't at CSC that much as far as i know. So USCIS is pushing some of the petitions to other service centers(CSC/TSC/VSc) but not at a very good pace. There lies the problem for slow adjudication of I-130's for IR/CR.

Second there is a priority date concept for spouse of LPR. It means that even if I-130 gets approved, NVC will NOT process the case or I-485 will not get approved until the applicant's priority date is current as per VISA bulletin. People have been waiting for 2yrs even for PD to be current even after an I-130 approval!.So an I-130 can get approved fast, but will be on the shelf accumulating dust until the PD does not become current in the Visa bulletin. LPR's have to follow the Visa bulletin every month to see if NVC will process the case or not. No such thing exists for IR/CR applicants. So once I-130 gets approved for IR/CR, NVC will process the case no matter what and send it to the embassy for interview.

Not really. There is no guarantee that LPR's can bring spouse with in few months. I-130 can get approved but remember PD has to be current even for NVC to process and also at the time of interview. If Visa bulletin dates go back, nothing will happen. Please go check the statistics of I-130 and F2A VB before July 2013. you will get the picture.

Until late October, all I-130s for U.S. Citizens were getting sent to the NBC, which was so severely backlogged that the wait time ballooned, as we see now. The service centers weren't processing anything at all. So this is technically incorrect if you are referring in any way to those I-130s filed by citizens. We get screwed over and the USCIS didn't use any common sense by sending our I-130s to the service centers, which weren't and aren't backlogged. But instead it sent all of them to the NBC and now we're meant to suffer immeasurably because of this while K-1s and LPRs are not, regardless of what you say about the PD.

Before you jump the wagon, you should read my post properly and correctly. Where did i mention that I-130's of citizens were processed in service centers all the time? Infact i was talking about I-130's of LPR's and if they file it stand alone it goes to service centers like CSC, TSC, VSC and ones with the concurrent filing(READ AGAIN: LPR's) goes to NBC. PD does play a role post I-130 on LPR's and till July wait time has been 2yrs!. CSC/TSC/VSC was all backlogged by two years or even more till July 2013. You should go see the statistics of I-130's at those service centers before july. Since july of this year, CSC for example has been approving I-130 cases really fast and yes PD does play a role in the next step of the process and its good to read up on those if you don't know how it works. Only point i would agree with you is the mistake that USCIS made by sending I-130's of IR/CR to NBC only.

Did you not read this part of my post...." if you are referring in any way to those I-130s filed by citizens"? Yes, I understand how PDs work. I was speaking about the USCIS portion of the process.

"Mistake" is a huge understatement when it comes to the USCIS sending the I-130s of U.S. Citizens to the NBC only.
