Hello! I'm excited to join September 2013 I-130 Filers. I'm from US and husband's from Philippines. Sent my application August 26 and they received it September 2 and paper notice of acceptance was received September 7, 2013. What is the next step i'm waiting for?

Thank you for your help. smile.png

Welcome Gelei21!

The next step (NVC) won't come for a very long time. (8-12 months or more)

Please read below what can we do it about it to change it!

Please, everyone, take a look at my post:

http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/459909-usc-green-card-petitioners-committee/?p=6591898

The letter that is referenced in that post is here:

http://uscgreencardpetitionerscommittee.blogspot.com/

Let's keep up the pressure.

1. generate more page views, more comments from affected spouses and supporters via email or links using social media (FB, etc.)

2. email brief cover letters with the link, to elected representatives, news editors, etc. (see my post) - the hope is, to get attention that will be noticed by the powers-that-be.

We have email addresses to Blackburn, Mayorkas, and Obama and we should get Rand Beers.

The right time to send the cover letters to them will be when we have generated more attention - I don't have any set recommendation for when that will be, but it would be nice to have 10,000 page views, and maybe a longer "CC:" list of influential people to add.

It would be nice if a reporter ran a story on what's happening, even a blogger, and linked back to it.

The point is, the more attention that has been paid to this letter and the issues it raises, before we email Blackburn, Mayorkas, Beers and Obama, the more weight this letter will carry.

Personal note: I have just emailed friends and family, asking them to take a look and consider leaving a comment. There's nothing stopping any of us from at least doing that, or posting on FB.

Hi everyone, I just joined this "party". I am not sure what to believe anymore, the USCIS website says 16.6 months, my lawyer says between 6-8 months and according to Lauren Scott, she believes I-130 will be begin to drop soon back to the 6 month processing time. Well, let's just sit tight and wait. This is a game of patience, I will keep you guys posted if anything happens. Don't know how this works. But I received the NOA1 on the second week of september, with a receiving date at USCIS on September 6th. Routed to Overland Park, KS. Hopefully this process starts to pick up, I miss my wife and daughter a lot.

Luv, I'm SO SO SO SO happy for you! Congratulations! That must be a HUGE relief! Keep us posted. I know you'll be busy in the next few weeks, but let us know how it goes and when you get back home! I'm so so happy you got an expedite. I am glad your senators were really active and did something for you. I do believe they can and will help if it's at all possible. goofy.gif

I'll have to think about it. I just don't trust most of them in Washington and don't have much faith in what they can do for me. I honestly am usually doubtful more noise matters, because at the end of the day bureaucrats will be bureaucrats and don't care about us IMO. Oh ok, no worries. Don't post anything you don't feel you should. smile.png

Wow, congratulations! How long did it take and what did you say to your Senator? Do you think writing to your Senator has any effect if you're not requesting an expedite?

r060106....I think it's worth a go. Can't hurt...would be great if you can get your wife here sooner, wouldn't it? :)

krispy they send me a email saying it was approved and i went to status update to make sure cuz i was in a little bit of a shock since i havent heard anything at all since i ask for the expedite and yes it said approved smile.png.. i did get a letter back home saying they would review about a week ago my son told me...Ro60106 thank you yes it did have something to do with it i just told them our situation of what was going on here in egypt wrote my senator and congress and this is the outcome within one month smile.png so it definately helps to write your senators if there is anything they can help you with but your question about if your not asking for expedite i dont know you just have to try if you think they can help...@ blueberry thank you so much smile.png

I totally agree with you, Luv. The Senators are there to help us with these kinds of things. That's what they get paid the big bucks for, in my opinion. And they should really be on this issue. The wait is ridiculous...and that was the main point when I wrote to mine. I also think it's unfair to have different processing times for each center.

Welcome, Gelei! Good luck! Now you're waiting for your NOA2. It usually takes a few months, as others have said.

Welcome dlor...87. Good luck! It really is a game of patience. It's hard to believe timeframes that the USCIS gives. Are you doing a spousal visa/I-130? I've been lucky so far and gotten my NOA2 within the first month. I'm now waiting on NVC, which seems to be slower than what was supposed to be the slowest part, getting the NOA2. It looks like most people are stuck in the NVC stage for 2-3 months now. So, I'd say you're safe in saying it'll be done within about 1 year. I know that seems like forever...so hopefully you're lucky and things speed up! Some people have said that it's going to get better and processing will be done within a 6 month timeframe. I really hope that's true. Keep us posted!

As for me...I decided to wait to call NVC on Monday evening. I don't want to sit on hold for 30 minutes every day...even if that's what's recommended (I don't have that kind of free time with a toddler...) sleepy.gif So, I'll keep you all posted next week. Hopefully things get inputted. The problem is that my hubby has some of our documentation and is waiting on police reports (they take forever) and since we were suddenly sped up, our paperwork is now slower than the process...lol! So, we'll keep clunking along here.

Blueberry, how are you doing, girl????

APPROVED 2/13/2014! dancin5hr.gif Day before heart.gif day. rose.gif

They just killed it for me cray5ol.gif .. Why would they say that??? does that mean I have to wait a whole yearClockWatch2.gif

Not fair.. A long distance relationship is super hard .. specially if you know you have to wait a whole year crying.gif

Sad Monday Morning

Yulieth,

Oct 2012 probably only means that they still have pending petitions filed in Oct 2012.

However, the backlog is serious, and it's very hard to say what the processing times will be for us.

The reason being... the center our files were sent to is probably not operational yet. It was expected to be by the end of September, but we haven't seen any approvals from there yet.

Please, please read this thread http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/459909-usc-green-card-petitioners-committee/
