Congrats! So happy for you and your family smile.png

Praying that the rest of our cases also fly through the process.

Thank you, LRP! Same to you...I hope the best for you to have a really quick process!!! :-)

Congrats jen smile.png

Thanks Luv! How's your situation looking these days? I know the Government shutdown is supposed to end tonight. If so, please email your Senator friend again and keep him working on it... :-) I'm concerned about you!!!!

Congrats to you and your hubby on the speediness of this journey for you guys. Absolutely wonderful! You may have him home in time for the holidays smile.png

Thank you, Bisola! I was really hoping for it. I know that's a huge hope at this point, but wouldn't that be just the icing on the cake!?! I hope you also have news really soon! Good luck!!! :-)

Wow! Congrats! May the rest of your journey be just as speedy! smile.png

Thank you very much, K.dlg! I hope the same for you. I really do hope the rest is as speedy.... :-)

I'm on this September train, filed 09/13 and received our NOA1 on 09/17 (my dads bday). Praying God is showing us a sign with that relevant date. Let's keep this train rolling, I know it's a long journey and I'm ready for the ride wink.png

I hope so, Bisola!!! Choo choo!!! Hehe :-)

So it appears one of the person who applied at the end of September (following the October I-130) has gotten a NOA1 on Oct 3rd and NOA2 from NBC center yesterday. How is this possible?

I guess it was a different process, from what I read below, lovex3.

I applied late sept. Got my Bio appt yesterday sent out from the 8th. Praying it continues at this speed.

That's amazing! Great! You must be already in the USA, huh? Congrats!!!

Maybe the process is sped up for you and the others who already have an NOA2 because you applied from within the US? I am just making a guess. I applied from Mexico so I think it might take longer. :/

That's the case, JeffinMX. People who are already here are being processed faster. But it's still a wait for things like employment papers, from what I understand...so that didn't seem like a good route for us...

Sorry, had to split this into two posts...

Yeah, it frosts me. It makes absolutely no sense that we can't bring our spouse here first and then go through the entire process while actually being able to live together. What's the big deal?? Either way they're going to keep tabs on our spouses through the ROC process and all that stuff. So why make us unnecessarily suffer? I mean, think about it. They want you to prove you're a "bonafide" couple and aren't in it for fraud, yet when it comes to actually being able to live like a "bonafide" couple and prove that by being together and doing all the things you'd think a "normal" couple would do, they don't allow you to do so and forcibly make you live apart. What???!! Does that make any sense or am I just taking crazy pills here??

If it were up to me there would be no USCIS involvement and the petitioning process would be thrown out completely if you're a citizen of this country. Why does USCIS need to determine if your marriage is bonafide? Why can't the CO just do all of that? Isn't that what they're paid to do? After all, they actually get to have some contact with the beneficiary. Whereas the USCIS doesn't have any at all. The whole system is archaic and just meant to make the country's own citizens suffer in my opinion.

Yes, I can see that and it really has made me lose all hope in this terrible process and I have gotten to the point where I just want to give up. If they want my wife and I to have a strained long distance relationship and be apart with a little one on the way, then they will have succeeded.

I completely agree with you.

r0601...I wrote something like this to my Senator soon after I filed. I think you should put your thoughts in writing to yours and do the same. We'll supposedly have a government deal tonight, or so the news is currently reporting... LOL! No more to be said on that topic for now..hah!

You sound as frustrated as I was at that point, by the prospect of a long wait ahead. I think you had said you wanted to wait for a bit of time before sending such a letter, but, I think you have some good points here that you should put pen to paper with...just my 2 cents smile.png

I just don't think it will make any difference given what other members on VJ have experienced when writing to their representatives.

Honestly, I don't know if writing to your senator had much to do with your approval. I think it was more influenced by the fact your petition went to the CSC, which is lightning fast right now compared to the NBC. Make sense?

I don't know if writing made a difference or not, either....I really don't. But, I know that it made me feel that I did everything I could, that was within my control....and that made me feel better, at least. Let's put it this way...it can't hurt. And it has the potential to help. So, being that you have a baby on the way...I'd hedge my bets if I were you and do it. I really think the baby thing might not matter to the USCIS, but, a Senator might be more human & care. It's up to you, of course...but you seem to have some opinions that are worth voicing either way to our senators. I'm not sure why you wouldn't want to do it though. I can't think of a "con."

I also think that the more this is highlighted to our leadership, the more likely the process will be improved...know what I mean? More noise in the system....etc.

I also have another suspicion why my husband's case got put through quickly. But I can't post anything here...too much personal info.

I'll have to think about it. I just don't trust most of them in Washington and don't have much faith in what they can do for me. I honestly am usually doubtful more noise matters, because at the end of the day bureaucrats will be bureaucrats and don't care about us IMO. Oh ok, no worries. Don't post anything you don't feel you should. :)

Wow, congratulations! How long did it take and what did you say to your Senator? Do you think writing to your Senator has any effect if you're not requesting an expedite?

How will this work exactly? Is someone waiting for enough replies to send it to USCIS? Do you know when that would be?

Hello! I'm excited to join September 2013 I-130 Filers. I'm from US and husband's from Philippines. Sent my application August 26 and they received it September 2 and paper notice of acceptance was received September 7, 2013. What is the next step i'm waiting for?

Thank you for your help. :)

How will this work exactly? Is someone waiting for enough replies to send it to USCIS? Do you know when that would be?

1. generate more page views, more comments from affected spouses and supporters via email or links using social media (FB, etc.)

2. email brief cover letters with the link, to elected representatives, news editors, etc. (see my post) - the hope is, to get attention that will be noticed by the powers-that-be.

We have email addresses to Blackburn, Mayorkas, and Obama and we should get Rand Beers.

The right time to send the cover letters to them will be when we have generated more attention - I don't have any set recommendation for when that will be, but it would be nice to have 10,000 page views, and maybe a longer "CC:" list of influential people to add.

It would be nice if a reporter ran a story on what's happening, even a blogger, and linked back to it.

The point is, the more attention that has been paid to this letter and the issues it raises, before we email Blackburn, Mayorkas, Beers and Obama, the more weight this letter will carry.

Personal note: I have just emailed friends and family, asking them to take a look and consider leaving a comment. There's nothing stopping any of us from at least doing that, or posting on FB.
