I google Overland Park almost every day.

And nothing.

I found something today but... re: I-601 Provisional Waivers, Division 1, at NBC/Kansas.

Nothing on Division 8.

Sigh.

Edit: I also went through other forums, immigrate2us, britishexpats, trackitt and some other ones.

Nada. Zero.

Lets find someone who works at that facility!

Hang in there guys :) AILA is having another meeting with the NBC on October 31, they'll get some answers then. I'm in touch with a liaison at the AILA who has promised to share information with me after that meeting, and there'll probably be another Q&A document posted similar to the one that came from the May meeting.

Hi BOS_LHR, not sure who AILA is? I would be very curious to know what comes out of that meeting? We haven't seen anyone getting approved from Overland Park yet ranting33va.gif

The AILA is the American Immigration Lawyers Association. They meet with NBC twice a year to address concerns from the clients they represent. The news about Overland Park opening came from their last meeting back in May: http://www.uscis.gov/USCIS/Outreach/Notes%20from%20Previous%20Engagements/2013/May%202013/NBC-AILA-QA-2013-05-01.pdf

I reached out to the AILA to find out if they knew anything about the status of the Overland Park office and how petitions were going to be handled with the change. The woman who responded didn't have information as to what Overland Park is doing now, but said she expects petitions at the Missouri office will be forwarded there for adjudication and invited me to follow up after their next meeting with the NBC on October 31. I'm very curious to know what comes from it, too, so I'll be emailing her again first thing on November 1 smile.png

Yeah, I knew there is another AILA/NBC meeting coming up (the second of their bi-annual conferences).

BUT I hope we will start seeing approvals by the time they post the minutes from this October meeting!!! (I don't think they get released to public right away)

Thank you for doing this! smile.png

Edit: I asked Laurel Scott, an immigration attorney and AILA member, about Overland Park. I posted her reply here. Have you seen it? It wasn't much though...

Yes what you had posted was quite helpful so thank you much! Everyone expected that facility to be up and running (specially division 8) including your lawyer, yet none of the May filers on this web received NOA2 yet.oops8rh.gif

Just to clarify- she's not my lawyer :) She just holds free weekly chats on her website. I asked her cause I knew she went to the AILA/NBC meeting back in May. She is a very good attorney too... so I hoped she would know more. Sigh.

I sure did! It's amazing to me how little anyone knows about Overland Park. The liaison who responded to me also toured the new facility back in May, and the only thing she had to add was: "The two facilities are only about 30 minutes from each other so I am quite sure that I-130s filed at Lee’s Summit will be shuttled over to Overland Park." Doesn't matter much for any of us filers who got our NOA1 from Overland Park to begin with, but I asked about it because I know the folks still at Lee's Summit are in agony trying to figure out where their petitions will go.

I don't expect the Q&A to go up right away after this meeting, either, which is why I'm happy to have someone's direct email address devil.gif The AILA liaison replied the day after I made my inquiry, so hopefully she'll be as quick with information after the meeting!

Sorry guys for the crappy image sad.png Here's the transcript :

Me: Hi Laurel smile.png Do you know when NBC in Overland Park,KS will become fully operational? They were expected to be by the end of the fiscal year.. Please share if you know anything. I am asking on behalf of all all May, June, July, August and September I-130 filers from VisaJourney!

Laurel: They probably are already actually. We took a took in May and the facility was already done back then- at least for the I-130 adjudication unit. The desks were in place. Carpets put in. Walls painted. They were just doing some final touches. And as I understand it adjudicators were in training at that point. They were supposed to be up and running by fall, which is now.

Thank you !! you are very kind :) helping and giving out information and updates at all time, really appreciate it, hoping for the best for all of us !!

I will start studying the NVC stage (and gathering docs) once we start seeing approvals from Kansas. For now I only know bits and pieces about this process.. still very confusing tongue.png

Well, we've had a few approvals here after the shutdown and that was a lot more then we had prior to it tongue.png

I hope it will not affect us in any way.

Sorry to hear his Internet is down sad.png Can it be fixed?

When will you actually see him? like, in person? smile.png

Hey, whose hubby here was coming to the U.S. to visit in October?

k.dlg?

And where is luvwillprevail? where are you girl?

He finally got his Internet back. It's only temporary and the company has to fix a box in the main street--which will be next week. It's super annoying because they only allow him one choice for Internet Provider, so he can't even leave them and get someone else. Totally ridiculous. We won't see each other again until Christmas.... sad.png Too long....I was hoping we'd be done, but I think we won't, at this pace. I called NVC today and they haven't received anything...

Made me drool!!!!! I want me some, I want me some!

I've had a sudden and brutal lactose intolerance lately, such pain omg!- I've lost a few pounds. Could use a cookie or two tongue.png

Ahhh, all the cooking and baking I'm gonna do when I am finally with my husband! Cannot wait!

I have major lactose intolerance....so I do goat cheese now. It's crazy! Ate dairy all my life until the last few years. Can't understand/explain that at all!

You sound like me. We actually do tons of cooking/baking together. He has Polish roots (his dad was from there,) so he has a lot of Polish dishes he wants to make for Christmas...the traditional ones. I bet you know exactly what I mean, right???

hey blueberry i am here i just havent got any news yet to really write about and trying to figure out what is the best for the baby right now if his visa doesnt get expedited..i wrote both my senators and also my congressman and due to the stupid shutdown i havent heard anything from anyone sad.png i dont want to leave my husband and go thru this pregnancy alone but its a big possibility it just sucks because this is his first child and he deserves to be there. i hope to hear something soon i will def keep u all updated smile.png One thing i am wondering but maybe i should post somewhere else is if i do leave what do i need to leave my husband like paperwork wise. Just so want this process to be over and i know everyone else does to.

Luv, I feel so bad for your situation right now. I don't know what to tell you. Maybe even if you can go to UAE or something like you suggested before...if it's that unsafe there. Poor you and the baby...and your hubby. Ahhh...what a situation overall. *HUGS*

i am feeling great thank you blu smile.png and yes they need to get their ###### together alot of people depend on these people to do their damn job i mean hey thats what they get paid for right? i will def ask is the process and procedure forum thanks for letting me know where exactly to post smile.png how bout u how are you doing besides this awful waiting game.

Glad you're feeling great, Luv!!! As far as those people doing their jobs....I called NVC this morning and I will just say....they do their job, but they are RUDE. Not friendly. Not helpful. I asked some questions about the job verification and she would not tell me anything because they don't have my case number yet. Totally uncool. That's my rant about them....

Sooo glad you're feeling great! smile.pngsmile.pngsmile.png

Well, you would think that's what they're paid for.. Sigh.

I am doing alright, considering ... Although crying my eyes out as I'm typing this. Just Skyped with my hubby- I so hate saying bye and hanging up.. Until next time... cray5ol.gif

Awww, Blueberry...so sorry!! Completely understand. I told my hubby we have a date on skype tonight since I can finally SEE him again! OMG...I felt like I was in the desert without water, when I couldn't see his face and his smile. It's hard enough being apart...but, no SKYPE...that was horror! alien.gif Do you guys do Skype dates at least? It helps.

My hubby sent me flowers today. How sweet! I got home from my son's Dr. appointment (he had his flu shot...and he was so good, didn't cry--Proud Mommy here!) And I am always upset when I have to get him shots, even though it's for his own good....but when I saw flowers on my door, it just brightened the whole day. Love that guy!!!! wub.png

Hang in there guys smile.png AILA is having another meeting with the NBC on October 31, they'll get some answers then. I'm in touch with a liaison at the AILA who has promised to share information with me after that meeting, and there'll probably be another Q&A document posted similar to the one that came from the May meeting.

I hope it's good news ASAP!!! good.gif

So...called NVC--no update as of today. They told me to wait 8 weeks again. Which I won't do. Everyone on here says to call 1-3 times per week, so I will continue. But, what I DO think is that Friday is a bad day to call....seems busier/longer wait. Just keep that in mind when you're on to the NVC stage. Avoid Fridays....star_smile.gif You can see from my post above...they were really unhelpful and borderline rude. You'd think they'd have *SOME* customer service skills. After this is all over, I will be writing a letter and it will be cc'd to a lot of people. I think all of us deserve more professional, courteous treatment during this process....ok, my rant is over... rolleyes.gif

APPROVED 2/13/2014! dancin5hr.gif Day before heart.gif day. rose.gif
