When your husband completes the DS-260 it will ask if he wants to get a social security card.

Please check out Saylin's wiki on the NVC process (there are screen shots of the DS-260 in there): http://www.visajourney.com/wiki/index.php/NVC_Process#Step_7_-_DS-260

And, come join us in the May NVC thread! :Dhttp://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/493903-nvc-filers-may-2014/

Did you call at all? I am just curious because I will be calling from Eastern Europe and would much rather communicate via email. That is so great for you!!! Good luck on a smooth and quick NVC process.

No we never called. I kept thinking of calling but never got around to it. To tell you the truth, I was beginning to get kind of stressed out with all this, so thought I'd just relax, sit back and try not to think of it all so much. Then all of a sudden, we got the emails!

Hi guys and gals

Just a quickie... I received my fee invoice from NVC today for the $88 AOS fee, which has now been paid online, and we have completed the DS-261 'choose your agent' thingy or whatever it's called

Anyone know what the IV processing fee will be? Also (and I've tried to figure this out from the NVC flowchart, but couldn't), do any of you know what the rough average processing time is between paying the $88 and the actual interview at the embassy? Obviously it's hard to predict but I'm just looking for a rough idea.

We are in Florida now but return to the UK on May 29, and we will be there for about a month, and I'm wondering if the interview might possibly take place at around that time...

Hope you're all well and surviving this totally bull5h1tty visa process

Congrats on your progress! The fee for the IV packet is $230 per applicant. Here is the direct link to the NVC Wiki:

By the way other cases look, your interview will probably be in July if everything goes smoothly, August at the latest. :)

Hi folks... for some reason my ears were ringing.. saw an update e-mail from the forum and saw our name being mentioned. I called USCIS today and made a service request to expedite as the nice spanish speaking woman told me. So I have to laugh because she said I should hear something in 5 days. But if I don't hear anything don't call back she says. Just wait... wait wait wait.... sigh...

Hi Joe and Vlad... do you have to wait until the exact 60 days since transfer? Ben and I are still waiting as well and I filed a request online at USCIS but that was a week ago and still nothing. Our 60 days will be tomorrow.

I think you do. But USCIS is so ambiguous about time frames. My congressman said wait another 30-60 days. USCIS quoted that after 60 days they offer a service request to expedite. Sometimes you hear 180 days. I figure the squeeky wheel gets the greese. So I will call again next Friday if I don't hear back.
