The shutdown won't really affect visas or the embassies, from what I've read. And because USCIS is fee based they don't really get affected either. I'm pretty sure of this.

r0601... I read this: http://www.visajourney.com/news/2013/09/30/us-government-shuts-down-impact-on-immigration-benefits-visas/ which seems to indicate potential delays for us. I do believe I'm reading it correctly...but maybe you have some more info. If you do, please share. I would love to hear some good news! smile.png (I'm sure we all would!) Any links to what you've found out?

APPROVED 2/13/2014! dancin5hr.gif Day before heart.gif day. rose.gif

Well, I think everyone knows that getting angry is not going to help.

But... I can't just accept it. That would mean I don't care anymore. And I do. Care. A lot.

But, for the sake of my sanity- I just gotta vent sometimes. ranting33va.gif

I agree with you BP.... I also feel like .... we paid a fee. and it wasn't a small fee... Its not like we are asking for something for free. It seems ridiculous that they can't take care of business on their end. They already cashed the checks... We did our part... Now they need to get it together. It would be a different story if filing was free and they were funded by the government... but thats not the case... So I think we all can be angry if we want to.

Nooo I just received a request for evidence for the documents that I've actually included. Have any of you guys got anything like that before?

09/14/13 Mailed I-130/ 485/ EAD

09/19/13 Email notification for the receipt of all the forms

So I got a question about the initial evidence requests, maybe someone has gone through this before: if they request you anything in connection with I-864, we send it and then they dont like what we sent them( for any reason), does USCIS just sends another request or there could be problems?

True that, girl! Saw this end of April approval last night... I hope you're next! :)

I seriously have no idea. Did you get a hard copy yet? You're doing concurrent AOS, right? I'd ask in the main forum?

Oops! I'm sure by the time we get a NOA2 I will have obsessed over the name Overland so many times I will never forget it or confuse it with Oakland ever again. rolleyes.gif

Hah, it will get engraved in your brain soon! Trust me..

I have dreams about Overland Park every night :P

lol@ Soulsplash and Overland v Oakland.

at least ya didnt do what one airlline did in the states..an elderly couple booked a flight for Oakland -USA ,and they sent themt o Auckland ,New Zealand....lol (must have been the accent)...and the 68 male passenger said it was a very pleasnt mistake.....

Aww BP what we do here without your dedicated ,informative help on this site! Not to mention your wonderful sense of humor despite the 'crappy conditions' ie waiting ...waiting...waiting...

Overland , but still Overhere....(hehe)..protest6wz.gif

Funny story! I would LOVE to accidentally end up in NZ! New Zealand is definitely on my bucket list :)

Overland, but still Overhere- Cracked me up! :D

Thank you for your sweet words, Carmen.. :)blush.png

So we keep waiting (waiting)

Waiting on the USCIS to change

We keep on waiting (waiting)

Waiting on the USCIS to change!

It's hard to beat the system,

When we're standing at a distance

So we keep on waiting (waiting)

Waiting for the USCIS to change!

very silly question, but I am dying to find out: How do you know when your case was last updated or checked? Mine just says "Initial Review"

P.S, it really does help to have you guys to talk to about this. I miss my husband, long distance is really hard, especially on me. Praying that we all get our NoA 2s soon!
