Can Somebody help with this Please .....

Are you self employed or do you have an employer? If you have an employer, can they write a letter of what your 2014 annual salary is? Also, you can attach recent pay stubs to your AOS packet as proof of income in addition to the tax return info they ask for.

As for your second question, I have to look at the I-864 to give you a better answer.

5/21/2016: Mailed I-751 packet to CSC

5/23/2016: NOA1

7/29/2016: Biometrics Appointment

11/22/2016: I-751 Approved!

off Topic questions ...

I made about $27000 .. last year because i stayed outside with my wife for about 4 months ..and didn't work....

But this year i am expecting to make double that ...so wat should i write my current income is in the form I864 .....?

and is this income good enough or do i need joint income ?

and

In Part 5 ... do i just put 2 in line8 ....if its just me and my wife ?

Thanks guys ...

See here, might be helpful http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/370906-question-filling-out-i-864/

Yes, what you made last year is enough :)http://www.uscis.gov/sites/default/files/files/form/i-864p.pdf ($19,622 for a household of 2)

If you have no other dependents and never sponsored anyone else, then yes. Put 2 in line 8.

So my husband finally received the documents from me that USCIS asked for in the RFE (they call it snail mail for a reason, jeez), but now we're confused as to what address should we send the RFE response to? The only address I see in the RFE letter is on the bottom of the blue cover sheet, is that it? Also, do we need to add an ATTN: something or other on there?

Yes, you need to send all your info to the address on the bottom of the blue sheet, and send it with the blue sheet on top of all the papers (or whatever you're sending). I suggest making a copy of you RFE for you personal records. :energy: Good luck!

Upon reading the hard-copy, I found that NVC made a mistake and emailed me the wrong checklist. I contacted a supervisor at NVC and she instructed me to write a letter of explanation to accompany my "real" checklist response. She also told me this may not help me and that we may be back in line. Lord help us!

Thanks to all you guys posting updates and useful info :goofy: Congrats to all recent approvals !!!

Trying to get somehow ready for NVC, so I got a question and hope someone can help; my husband and I have been out of country since 2008 so he has not filed taxes since, is it better for him to file right now before we get to fill out I864? household of 4, he made 32k last year 27k on '12 and 22k on '11 not sure if that would make it worse or if they ask for co sponsor anyway  Thank you in advance

I know this is a random question and it's probably already answered somewhere on VJ, within what time frame does the beneficiary actually have to cross over into the U.S. once everything is all said and done and the interview is complete?

I wondered the same thing as I'm from Canada and moving to USA eventually with my American wife. Nice lady at USCIS told me that once you have your status and enter the USA as a permanent resident, you can go back to your home country to do whatever it is you need to do before making the permanent move. You just need to make sure you are not outside of the USA for more than a year or your status will lapse and you'll lose your green card and also remember to file taxes to the IRS no matter where you are once you are a USA permanent resident.

Oh that's good to hear. So, as long as the US permanent resident (beneficiary) does not leave the US for more than one year, it's okay?

About the taxes, they would only have to file if they are working in the US, correct?

I'll answer your second question first. That depends. How's that for a government answer hahaha Seriously, if your spouse has a social security number, then yes I do believe they will need to file taxes. But, I believe foreign income has to be over a certain amount before the IRS wants a piece of it. IRS Publication 501 has all of that information. I recommend reading that when you have a bout of insomnia.

If the permanent resident plans to be out of the USA for a period lasting longer than 1 year, the spouse can apply for Advanced Parole. That will allow the permanent resident to re-enter after being gone for longer than a year :-)

thank you for clearing that up! so, even if the person has no income (for example, I am the US citizen living in Mexico and not working) they still have to file their taxes? I am confused.
