When they issue the certificate is it always in 3 languages or is each language on it's own sheet? Did you get married in the US or another country?

Can you just request the certificate in English only?

5/21/2016: Mailed I-751 packet to CSC

5/23/2016: NOA1

7/29/2016: Biometrics Appointment

Forgive me if you've already stated this, but when you mailed in the I-130 was the marriage certificate in English? Or did it have all three languages on it?

I have no clue why they'd send an RFE if it's in English, but maybe they want a certified English only copy? I wish I could be more help to you :/

In my country every certificate like marrige even a Id and Passport are in 3 Languages as I said before .

And requst says like this :

You submitted a foreign language document that appears to be a marriage certificate. You must submitt a full English translation of that document.this must be a complete translation of the original document in its etirety.Extract or summary translation of the orginal are not acceptable.

The translatornmust certify that the translation is complete and accurate, and that he or she is comptent to translate from the foreign language to Englsih .

That is total BS on USCIS part. The officer looking at your file clearly didn't even bother to read it.

It looks like you're going to have to submit the certificate in English only if possible.

Scroll to the bottom of this page: http://serbia.usembassy.gov/marriage.html

It looks like you need the international form. I hope this helps.

Ughhh... So you can't get one in Albanian/Serbian only?

Maybe re-sent it with an attached cover letter explaining that this the only kind of marriage certificate your country issues?

Also see this. Is the the kind you submitted? http://travel.state.gov/content/visas/english/fees/reciprocity-by-country/KV.html#docs

Documents Birth, Marriage, and Death Certificates

Available. Birth (Certifikate e Lindjes/ Izvod Rodjenih), marriage (Certifikate e Marteses/ Izvod Vencanih) and death certificates, (Certifikate e Vdekjes/Izvod Umrlih) are available from the civil registrar with jurisdiction over the locality where the event occurred. If the event occurred abroad, the Kosovar citizen may choose to report it to the local authorities and is then issued the corresponding document, listing the foreign country as the place of occurrence of the event. The fact that a marriage took place by proxy is not usually evident from the marriage certificate. Only civil marriages are legal in Kosovo.

The Kosovo Civil Code does not permit the registration of same-sex marriages. Additionally, a same-sex marriage registered in a country that legally allows same-sex marriage is not considered to be a legal relationship in Kosovo.

You can get it translated in Kosovo, it just needs to be from a professional translator (who can sign/stamp/certify or whatever).

I don't think it necessarily has to be a professional translator, but just someone who will sign saying that they understand both languages well enough to be able to translate the document. We were wondering the same thing but it didn't say anywhere that it had to be a professional or certified translator.

#1 oopsie and I'm glad we got it sorted!

#2 USCIS is so weird about what has to be official and what can be done by anyone. Notarized statements from family members about the validity of a marriage but anyone can translate a document.

linakajt; I'm glad this is an easy fix for you! :)

Each document that he send was signed also stamped each stamp has apostil from state .

Every document was in 3 languages ( for each Kosovar is like that ) Albanian , Serbian and English .

I am sure they dident even bothered to look at it .
