The NVC waiting period is nothing like the USCIS waiting period (which can feel like a black hole). NVC could have prepared for this sudden surge of approved petitions being sent to their office, but that's the US government for you. Once the case # is issued, the rest of this process moves rather quickly. Any delays are either on the applicants or depending on the beneficiary's country, the interview time could take a while.

Once you get the USCIS approval, the rest will feel like smooth sailing!

The process has taught me more than I've ever wanted to know about immigration. I can't wait for this nightmare to end so we can all move on with our lives. Hang in there, everyone. There IS a light at the end of the tunnel!

Well I sure hope that NVC stage goes by quickly, to ALL of us. We have been waiting for what seems an eternity for those approvals. Cant wait to get this over with…

I came across this link on the trend on "Background check for i130". Someone mention that if your name comes up in a search on this link http://sdnsearch.ofac.treas.gov/default.aspx it could cause a bit of delay in getting the NOA 2, because they will have to do some background check before granting the approval.

Is anyone aware of this?

I have heard that.... they call it 'additional security clearance' or something. I'm not sure if it's that site, though. P.S. do you know what service center your petition was sent to?

If you were sent to NSC you are now outside of processing times according to USCIS' update! Call a Tier 2 tomorrow and get your service request in!!!!

Those processing times don't go off of transfer dates, so I don't think it would be out of the question, IMO...
