Is a pregnancy considered a valid reason for an expedite? I always thought it wasn't. Just curious.

Thanks Blueberry smile.png

So happy for you! :)

Don't you have to submit some docs/paperwork to have your request expedited? Or is it just a phone call/email? Not sure how it works..

Anyhow, fingers crossed it works! Definitely better to get out of there before the baby is due... Good luck! :)

I am glad u ask that blueberry i was about to post about my expedite as i hear they dont expedite for that reason and also i have read they might deny just because they think someone got pregnant just for the expedite...trust me that is not the case lol yes we were trying but that is only because i am not getting any younger here lol i am 38 and my husband doesnt have any kids i have 4 so if it wasnt for him i def wouldnt be pregnant lol.. I actually just ask for it on humanitariun grounds due the the political and governmental situation and the onging protests of the muslim brotherhood and fearing for our safety. My husband is unable to find work because of this and our quality of life has diminished severely. i wonder if i should have told them i was pregnant now or not if that would have helped us but i dont want to get denied since that is not one of the grounds to get expedite also after the request they give you a confirmation number and said i have a target date as of Oct 1st to call back..I am also writing my 2 senators and congressmen i am going to fax it to them so i will let them know i am expecting but before i do go to doctor and get proof to fax that also.

I don't think anyone would think you got pregnant on purpose...

You could maybe say it wouldn't be safe for you to have a baby in Egypt, crappy medical care, etc etc..

But I do not know much about expedites. Try and ask more knowledgeable VJers!

Seriously, good luck girl! :)

So, so far in this thread... we have: 2 VJers with babies on the way wub.png and one approval star_smile.gif

Not bad, guys! :)

Hello everybody :)

I'm a September filer as well. Our file was rerouted to NBC and the stamp on the NOA1 envelope says Overland Park. Not sure if this is a good thing or a bad thing, can't get much information about it from reading all the posts. Crossing fingers and hoping it's a good thing! :)

Nope, the thing that they frown upon is the staying on a tourist visa--using the marriage as an excuse to stay. :)

Luv, I do think that you should mention your pregnancy in your request to expedite on humanitarian grounds. I think people would be concerned for your baby, truly. It is a really valid thing to mention in your situation. Truly! Definitely write to the 2 senators given the danger you guys really are in there. I'm so sorry to read about your husband being unable to work and the loss of your livelihood. Would it be better for you to come back home until he can be processed....now that you're in the early stages of pregnancy and can travel? Can you work here, to keep the coal fires burning, at least?

I don't think anyone would think you got pregnant on purpose...

Not that I don't think my child is a blessing, because I do. But I don't consider it good luck to be in the situation of having a child while you and your loved one are 5,000 miles apart from each other and can't enjoy the new baby together as a couple. Just my opinion. No offense or anything.

It's only for a short time that you'll be apart...and even though it does suck to be apart while pregnant...your baby is for keeps, after this ordeal is over. I'm still saying he/she is good luck. I guess it's where you're coming from...I personally have and have had a lot of friends who have struggled to have children or adopt them. You both are incredibly lucky. My son is the best, luckiest, most beautiful thing in my life.
