Our case got transferred to Nebaraskacrying.gif .. find out from a tier 2 call back.. our case was transferred yesterday... It really feels like one step forwrad 3 step backwardprotest6wz.gif ...

If Nebaraska keep on approving 3 VJ cases per day as they are doing latley, it will only take them 10 business days to clean up June and July pending filers and start on September. I know it is very optimistic.. i dont want to wait another 2 months for approvalprotest6wz.gif I hope NBC start firing on all cylinders.

I suggest all NBC transferres start contacting our representivies and point them out the NY Times article and specifically mention NBC as a culprit... hopefully, they can put some pressure on NBC... I am going to contact my senator and congresswomen.

Hi there friends, a new member here. Just wanted to update you guys about my case. I had initially filed my I-130 under the F2A cateogary with my priority date being September 20th 2013. My spouse became a US citizen on Jan 2014 after which my lawyer sent out to upgrade my case to IR. My I-130 peition as of today still shows On September 20, 2013, we received this I130 IMMIGRANT PETITION FOR RELATIVE, FIANCE(E), OR ORPHAN, and mailed you a notice describing how we will process your case. My NOA-1 shows NBC, Lee's Summit MO and my case number is MSC13919051XX. I guess having seen so many cases been transfered just wanted to update you guys that there are still quite a few Sep 20th 2013 filers whose case has not been transfered yet, I was playing around with the MSC13919051XX and it seems like it will take a while till they reach my case as there are quite a few in line before my case number. On a positive note, I reside in the US and my I-485 intervirew date has been scheduled for the second week of April.

Cheers

If you absolutely cannot wait to find out where your petition is, follow this guideline!!! :) Good luck!

For people receiving multiple e-mails about a transfer, there is a glitch in their system. The first e-mail was the transfer e-mail, the other two were stating I was transferred to a local office (this is NOT the case). The last e-mail I got stated my case had been transferred and is now being processed.

IF YOU WANT TO KNOW EXACTLY WHERE YOUR CASE IS: you have 2 options. The first is to wait for the letter from USCIS, the second is to call USCIS. If you want to call, here is my suggestion, and it has worked for a few of us on here smile.png

Call 1-800-375-5283. You must be the petitioner, USCIS will not speak with the beneficiary. Option 1 for English. Then option 2. Option 1 to enter your receipt number (enter your receipt number). Then press 3 to get connected to a customer service agent.

The first agent you speak with will not know any specifics about your case. What the agent will do is simply read what is on the screen (the same screen we're looking at when we check our case status online). When you get the agent on the phone, feign ignorance about your case. "I just got three e-mails about my case being transferred and I'm really confused". The agent will read the screen, at which point you can say "So where did my case go? Why is it going to the local office? I've never heard of I-130s going to the local office? Is there something wrong with my file?" The agent will likely re-read the screen. At this point, simply request to be transferred to a Tier 2 agent who can provide more specifics on your case.

If the agent you're speaking to is a jerk face and won't transfer you, hang up and try again smile.png

Once you're transferred, you'll get an obnoxious hold time, you can request a call back - there's a prompt that will walk you through that process. The Tier 2 agent will call you back. Start the same conversation again "I'm confused, where's my case going. I keep getting e-mails that my case is being transferred. Is there something wrong". The agent should let you know where it went.

The petitions are not being transferred to Lee's Summit. That's where they've been. Do not accept this as an answer from the customer service agent. If this is all too much for you, relax. You'll get a nice pretty letter from USCIS soon telling you where it went, but for impatient people like me, try the tactic listed above. Play dumb, but be firm in getting an answer. This is your petition, you have every right to know where it is.

Since I know this response will get lost in this thread, I'll happily re-post from time to time when people have questions about where the transfer is smile.png

USCIS website showed that our file was transferred on Mar 3, then when I checked it next day that's changed to Mar 4.

I am so sad/mad today knowing our case was transferred to NSC (my pd Sep 26). I don't understand why USCIS is keep transferring petitions to NSC given the huge backlog there:ranting:

I did sent a letter to NY senator asking for help and specifically pointing out problems with NSC. Below is the content of the letter.. Fellow, NSC transferees, If any of you want to send similar letter to your representatives, please free... We need to shine some light at this NSC backlog issue and have as many congressional staff nagging USCIS about it.. At this point, i feel like this is all we can do and hope for the best..

Senator X,

I am a US citizen applying for permanent residency for my spouse who is residing in XXX. I need your help in following up with USCIS in adjudicating our I-130 visa petition (US Citizen Immediate Relative) without further delays. I filed my I-130 petition on September XX, 2013 and it has been more than 5 months waiting for this petition to be adjudicated. Please note that even after USCIS approval, we need to wait another 4 months for the state department’s processing.

To give you some background, USICS has a stated goal of adjudicating I-130 petitions within 5 months. However, they are severely backlogged and I am afraid USCIS is not trying hard enough or don’t have the resources to meet their own goal.

Today, I learned that our case was transferred to Nebraska Service Center. Unfortunately, this service center is known for its huge backlog. Specifically, I-130 CR-1 petitions transferred to Nebraska center in December 2013 still haven’t been adjudicated whereas petitions transferred to California service center during the final week of February, 2014 are swiftly being approved.

I am extremely frustrated with USCIS for transferring our petition to a backlogged service center while service centers with minimal backlog were available. Due to this, I am looking at the realistic prospect of another 2 months+ delay for my case to be adjudicated. All in all, at the current slow speed, it will take a year or more for our family to be together. This is not humane and can be avoidable if the government agencies are more proactive and accountable to citizens.

I request you to contact USCIS on my behalf to speed up the process. Please question them about the cause of the backlog in Nebraska service center and steps USCIS management taken to increase efficiency there and timeliness of their corrective actions. It will be tremendously helpful to us and thousands of families in my situation if better efficiency can be achieved. Layman like me has little influence over USCIS bureaucracy. I will be extremely grateful to you for any help in this matter.

For your reference, here is a recent NY Times article published on February 8, 2014 outlining delays in US Citizens’ Immediate Relative visa processing. < http://www.nytimes.com/2014/02/09/us/program-benefiting-some-immigrants-extends-visa-wait-for-others.html?hp&_r=2>

I am afraid if timely action does not take place by people in authority, we will be also left waiting 15 months for approval as mentioned in the article. Please help.

Sincerely yours,
