I think the K-1 petitions were still backlogged this past May. So fairly recently.

I do not know anything about this CSC drama... This was the first I've heard about it. Tried to Google it but couldn't find anything.

But CSC doesn't handle I-130s anymore, so I doubt they would transfer their petitions (I-129f/K1, I-130/F2A.. ) to Kansas? Although, who knows.

Oh ok. Then I guess that's good news for us, that they'll hopefully clear the backlog in I-130s. :) Thanks.

Oh trust me, I completely understand and it's frustrating that we have to get permission to be with our loved ones. Makes no sense if you really think about it how we have to be granted our nation's blessing before we can be together unless they were born here first. So, what? We're only limited to choose a mate from the people within the boundaries of our country to avoid this kind of red tape and whatnot? I don't think so. Ridiculous that it takes so much work just to be with your loved ones, but alas, I would wait tenfold *knock on wood* what I've had to wait to be with my husband for good if it meant I got to spend the rest of my life with him.

I know it's hard but try not to let it get you down. Talk every day. If not possible, message each other every day, write letters, take silly photos to send to each other, anything to make this time go by a little easier and quicker. Don't let it get you down because in the end, your loved one is worth all the hassle and hard work, right? smile.png

I totally agree with everything you just said. Many good points. :) Our government treat us like subjects and our spouses/fiances like dogs. Honestly. I would wait tenfold as well. It just is harder for my wife and I because we have a little one on the way.

I'll try because I have to. They'res really nothing else to do at this point. We email and skype each other every day, as well as write handwritten letters occasionally. Yes, she is worth it. :) Well said.

You should have sent some evidence in addition to the birth certificate. I'm not sure what's going to happen, but they might give you an RFE because of only sending those documents. But I'm not super experienced, so maybe someone else could give some help regarding your issue. Sorry :(

what did u send ?!?

The marriage certificate, photos, birth certificates, skype video chat logs, joint bank account statements, a life insurance policy with my wife as the beneficiary, my 401k and pension beneficiary statements, join cell phone bills and skype video chat screenshots and some email log screenshots.

Calm down, I'm sure there's a way around this for you. :)

Well, yes- you should have submitted more evidence..

For right now, though, there isn't anything you can do.

One of the following will probably happen:

1. They approve it without any RFEs (Request for Evidedence)

2. They RFE you for bonafide marriage evidence and then you can submit : pictures, chat and call logs, boarding passes from visits to each other etc. http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/449862-last-few-questions-before-filing/ here you will find wht we included in our package

3. They send you a NOID (Notice of Intent to Deny). This is possible to overcome, and you resubmit everything + all the evidence you can gather.

Now, I've heard of cases approved with no evidence. Just a marriage certificate.

So it's hard to say what will happen.

For now, stop worrying. Nothing you can do anyways. I, personally, think either option #1 or #2 will happen smile.png

Good luck!

Good! Constant communication for our kind of relationship is KEY. Just today, I misunderstood something my hubby said which kind of hurt me, to where I responded and kind of hurt him without meaning to, so we both worded what we said poorly, but after explaining what we meant, we apologized for unknowlingly hurting each other's feelings, and got through it rationally and maturely. Handwritten letters are awesome too. We'll send each other little gifts now and then just as we would pick something up that made us think of each other if we were living together. happy.png

what did u send ?!?

Since my husband and I are newlyweds and have never lived together before, we didn't have much evidence other than photos (one from each year we've been together and wedding photos), boarding information, and skype logs, so we asked three people to write affidavits for us, which the instructions ask you to do to support your case if you don't have any joint bank accounts or children, or anything else proving you're a legitimately married couple.

Thanks! Waiting for our little Polak definitely makes the time go faster. :) We have something to look forward to, instead of constantly having to wait for USCIS to get moving. It makes it harder and easier at the same time. I hope she's able to be here soon too. :) We believe God gave us this child as a sign that we will be together someday and just need to trust in Him, and that He won't let us down.

Yes, constant communication is key! I chat with my wife on my phone via skype all the time, even when I'm at work. Instead of having to pay gobs of money to send texts we just send skype chats and it all works out! :) Yeah, I know exactly what you mean with hurting each other's feelings. There definitely is a culture and language barrier to get around and overcome. But with time and love anything can be worked out, even in distance over skype. :) Just think of how strong couples like us become compared to "normal" couples who see each other every day. The process is designed to weed out people, but I think it does the exact opposite and makes them a stronger couple and grows their love. If that makes sense. Yeah, we send gifts and letters too. Those are always the most special - something tangible you can touch and even sometimes smell makes the other person feel so much closer and helps get through the distance. :)

OMG...I haven't read all of the updates before I just got this message! I got two notifications from USCIS today. The first one freaked me out. This is what it said:

"On September 24, 2013, your Alien Registration Number was changed relating to your I130, IMMIGRANT PETITION FOR RELATIVE, FIANCE(E), OR ORPHAN."

So, I took it to be an error! I thought they had assigned me an Alien Registration Number, in line with my theory that being sent to California was because they thought I wasn't a citizen! Sooooo....I called them up and got a very nice person on the phone who was extraordinarily helpful and kind. Really a surprise to me, by the way! Anyway, he said that they have actually assigned an Alien Registration Number to my hubby! I asked him what does that mean? Is it a good sign? He said he can't say, but, all he can say to me is that it certainly is not a bad sign. LOL! Don't you love those answers like lawyers give? Anyway, I'm taking it as a good sign! Has anyone else had this happen???

Five mintues ago...I got ANOTHER text! Not joking. This is what it said:

"On September 24, 2013, your Alien Registration Number was changed relating to your I130, IMMIGRANT PETITION FOR RELATIVE, FIANCE(E), OR ORPHAN."

What does this mean, guys?????? I am hoping it's a good sign. But, what step does this put us on????

Blueberry, the guy on the phone had no knowledge of any issues at the California Center and just basically told me that they had no processing time for I-130's and he couldn't help with that. But, the center can and does process them! Go freaking figure that I'd be sent somewhere with NO DATA! LOL! Anyway...I'm hoping this is good news!!!!
