My birthday is on the 20th! He says he's going to plan out the entire day biggrin.png Other than that, just enjoying not having to talk at a screen for 3 weeks LOL

What about you two? Any big plans?

Well happy early birthday if we all forget!! lol Hope he plans something nice!

I have my sister's baby shower while they're here, but obv they won't be joining me for that. We're planning on going to Austin, visit some historical landmarks here near Houston since his dad is a big history buff and LOVES Texas history, take them on a tour of NASA, and maybe visit a museum or two as well as Galveston (the beach). If we have time, we may go camping by a lake here too. After his dad leaves, we're going to south Texas for my grandma's 90th birthday party, and after that ... I basically have to go back to work for the 2nd week he's here. Boo.

I have to work part of the time he's here. I just look at it as a precursor to what life will kind of be like once he's here.

He's also going to help shovel some snow as I'm completely buried in it up here in Minnesnowta :D

Im the fussiest eater on the planet. I'm sure I have an eating disorder of some kind.

I haven't eaten seafood of any type since I was about 4. If I walk past the fish counter in a supermarket I have to hold my breath and walk at twice the speed. I've never eaten an egg unless it was cooked into something, like a cake. Cant bear vegetables. I dont like meat... and never tried Christmas pudding or mince pies or brandy butter or any of that stuff. Never tried coffee, cant stand tea, most fruits make me squeamish...

My advice would be to never invite me to a dinner party unless you're serving plain pasta, cheddar cheese and milk chocolate :)dancin5hr.gif

lol @ Minn-es-sow-tah. Glad y'all acknowledge the stereotype too. I want snow! All we had was a teeny bit of ice here and the entire city shut down.

I am so DONE with this winter! Apparently more snow is expected tomorrow!

Luckily, Minneapolis has a pretty large British population here so most things in England can be found here. Even the passive, nonchalant attitude LOL (I'm not from Minnesota, so it's taken getting used to)! I think my husband will adjust just fine :)

Eww. Mexican food in the UK sucks big time. Although, so does most food in the UK smile.png

Hey, what's wrong with UK food cool.png

I took my hubby to a Mexican restaurant called Chiquitos when he was here in November, he said it wasn't bad but it didn't come up to scratch with the Mexican food he was used to eating in TX, and this last visit we went to an 'American' Steakhouse, he had ribs and lobster (yes a Texan that didn't eat steak in a steakhouse, I know, I know!), he was pretty impressed with that place :D

I would trade you in a heartbeat! I miss real winter and snow and skiing and having Xmas when it's cold. Luckily this was a mild Aussie summer but still had a 108 day with nasty humidity

Dont get me started on UK food :)

Chiquitos... that was the company that rose from the ashes of the American chain called Chi Chi's. They had several restaurants in the UK for a while, but they couldnt make a success of it, because they had to charge a very high price for a product they felt was inferior to their American wares, so they sold themselves to the company that became Chiquitos. I ate there once, at the one at Staples Corner in London.

Im a trivia freak as well as a food freak :)

Lol! You certainly know your stuff! I'm no food connoisseur, I'm a Yorkshire lass, don't have very high expectations, so unless it's really bad then it will get a thumbs up from me. I did quite like Chiquitos and their Quesadillas compared favourable to the ones I have eaten in a couple of Mexican restaurants in Fort Worth, but that's just my opinion, like I said, I'm a simple girl with simple tastes ;)

Ok, now I want yorkshire pudding...one of the few things I actually like :)

I ate at a place in Fort Worth called On The Border. That was pretty good. Actually, I think I ate at On The Border in Arlington and Irving too :)

(I spent a lot of time in the metroplex several years ago)
