Yea really!! My husband in Sydney doesn't look at this site at all...so I give him all the updates... when I told him we still haven't been transferred and that the wait may easily still be 5 months or more for the rest of the process he about had a breakdown! he thought I was kidding... sad.png Not a good day for us cray5ol.gif

I can imagine, and like me, Im thinking you might have had quite a long wait to be able to actually apply in the first place, which probably sucked even more. Do your best to lean on each other (even taking the distance into account) and day by day, youll get through it. You can always come here to have an electronic hissy fit too :)

haha, you sound like my manager. ;) He basically told me he was glad to hear that I was making work a priority and taking the right steps to ensure that my work performance will not be affected, but said more importantly to also take care of my health and to make sure to let them know if I needed anything to help me at work. I'm lucky to have an understanding manager, but I felt kinda bad bc I took him off guard. I felt much better afterwards though. Thanks for the kind words. :)

I agree with him. You need to take care of your health first though. I had a very stressful high powered job, I was trying to get over a failed relationship, I had mortgages coming out of my butt, but I kept pushing myself to work work work... Then one day I went into my office and totally lost it. It was like the human version of Chernobyl. Total meltdown. I then took two weeks off, it turned into a month, it turned into 7 years... And even after that, I never went back, even though my job was waiting for me. So you make sure you take care of yourself now, y'hear? :) if you take care of yourself, you'll have the strength to take care of your job :)

haha, I'm sorry to hear that happened but I'm glad you came out on the other end. I'm pretty much in same sort of work ethic - strict deadlines, three upper levels of management keeping track of my work performance and ensuring I meet those deadlines, government budgets, full day (8-9 hour) international meetings that start at 6 am, a PLETHORA of technical data that gets crammed into my head every day and hoping I can keep up. I think I'm at the point where I need a break from here which is why I'm also thankful that my hubby will be here bc I'm taking a week off. WOOHOO! And thanks again, you do the same as well. :)

Oh, I'm not too worried about being transferred, I know it'll happen soon enough, but it was just everything piling on top of me (including this separation and waiting), I thought I could handle it on my own, but it looks like I can't always be proud and not let things get to me, because they do and I just sorta file them away. My hubs was not a happy bunny when I told him about it either. lol Thanks for your kindness. smile.png

And yes, hopefully we'll hear something soon for 9/11 - 9/19!!

You should not be embarrassed at all! This will make you guys stronger in the end. I wish you the best and send all my positive thoughts and prayers your way. Don't hold it in, is not healthy. If you need to vent I am so happy to lend you an ear or whatever you need!

Thanks! smile.png

Give it a try.. it won't hurt!

I think I will! Thank you!

Yeah it was very similar for me. I worked for an airline as a sales manager, and the weekend before I turned into Chernobyl, I had finished a marathon trip from London to Dubai to Kuwait to London to Chicago to Dallas to Chicago to Glasgow to London to Dubai to London (literally, in a week) to try to kiss all my customer's backsides, to try to be Mr Wonderful, to try to reach my targets (etc) and I just burned myself out. It was a long time coming, and I saw the signs, but I ignored them. Idiot.

But with your hubby arriving and all that good stuff, you can hopefully mentally remove yourself from all the BS for a while and just have some fun. It will do you the world of good I'm sure. goofy.gif

Heyzeus ... I complain about the 9-10 flight between Houston and London, could not IMAGINE doing all of those long-haul flights in one week! I feel like I need a week just to get over one flight. No wonder you went nuts! And yes, I get to take his Dad to places in TX he hasn't been yet so it'll be a nice little road trip with my new pops. Already counting down ...

The two things I dislike most in the world are a) flying and b) peanut butter. Thankfully that particular trip was peanut butter-free, but the flying was just the straw that broke the camel's back. To this day, I get physically sick when I have to get on a plane. Im not nervous of flying, I just HATE flying. I hate everything about it.

I've never been to Houston. Just Dallas (20 zillion times) but I'm sure you'll find plenty to do to take your mind off all of this stuff. And if all else fails, there are always nachos. I bet Houston has good nachos :) :)

Sigh... thanks for the little brain teaser... I am left-brained 63/37.

I did two Brain Gym/Optimal Visualization courses and was told my brain is switched. My logical side is my right side and my creative side is my left. For those that know me that answers alot of questions LOL

I go see my hubby tonight!!! SO excited. Haven't seen him since Christmas. First time back to the US since we got married in August and this whole process started.

haha, wonder if it's a Brit thing. My hubs doesn't like PB either, especially with chocolate. And you're missing out. Houston >>>> Dallas. Funnily enough, nachos is what I had for lunch today! ;)

No wonder you went nuts! And yes, I get to take his Dad to places in TX he hasn't been yet so it'll be a nice little road trip with my new pops. Already counting down ...

I'm so glad to hear you will get a visit! It will help with the stress I'm sure! Is he coming to see you in the state? Was he able to get a visitors visa or...? We're trying to figure out what we're going to do of we're not done in time for our wedding. We had it all planned and paid for based on really bad advice from an immigration attorney that got my partner detained and then turned around at LAX. Hoping we can get him a visitors visa for like 3 months so we can have the wedding and come back after
