Long story short, last week the check that we sent to USCIS was posted just a few hours short of when my direct deposit from work came in. Bank assured me the check would still go through but surprise surprise I find out this morning that the check was returned. I know that this is my fault and not the bank or USCIS.. so please spare me the chastising. Believe me, i feel horrible as it is. cray5ol.gif

Does anyone know what happens now? Will USCIS try to repost the check? I've searched and found similar posts in the forum but most of them were from 5 or so years ago and the answers varied. I was wondering if anyone had gone through a similar issue before or has any current information.

Any information you guys can share would be awesome.

Here is what the USCIS website says about Insufficient Funds:

Insufficient Funds – Please note that the electronic fund transfer from your account can occur faster than normal processing of a paper check. If we cannot complete the electronic fund transfer because your account has insufficient funds, we will try to make the transfer up to two more times. If your account still lacks sufficient funds, you will be billed the original check amount and a one-time administrative fee by USCIS.
