FOR FILIPINA SPOUSES -- What did you put as your middle name in the I-130 Form??

Hello, fellow VJers! This is a question specifically for filipina spouses who applied for a CR1/K3 visa.. When you and your husband filled out the I-130 form, what did you put as your middle name? As we all know, here in the Philippines we have a tradition that once a woman marries, she uses her maiden name as her middle name and her husband's last name as her new surname. I recently found out that this is not the case for Americans. Their middle name and maiden name are different. We are confused as to what to put in the form now because of this. Help, anyone?

There's a part in the form where it asks if you have Other Names Used (include the maiden name). Did you put your previous middle name (your mother's maiden name) in there? Also, I haven't been able to update my passport into my new last name now, because we're still waiting for our marriage contract to be released. Do you think I need to update my passport first before we put my new last name in, or would the USCIS understand that my passport would still contain my maiden name since we're newly married?

the name you filled up in the form I 130 should also be the same as your passport name. If you wish to use your married name i would suggest you update your passport first.

Not sure if this will be of any help to you, but I've listened to several of these that this guy does, i filled out blank forms from his instructions and then completed final forms thereafter. There is alot of information here; several folks on YouTube who have helpful (and not so helpful) information. These go field by field on the forms and tell you specifically how to answer them...

Thank you very much for the helpful info! I'll make sure to check out the link you gave.. I have been trying to find a youtube instruction on how to fill out the I130 form line by line, but so far I haven't been able to find a really helpful one. Hopefully this one will give me the answers I need.. Thanks a bunch! ^___^

She put legal married name. We married in the Philippines and her last name became her middle name and she took my name as her last. However, the IO when we had the interview for naturalization was confused and insisted that she would have to take her middle name she used that she was born with. I was able to be in the room with my wife during the interview, and I questioned the IO considerably. I guess my questioning his sensibility about the matter was enough to prompt him to speak with his director, and in the end my wife was able to keep her REAL legal name, rather than a fake name the IO chose for her to have.
