Domicile problem @ interview?

I am living with my wife in Singapore until she can get her visa. I'm also working here in Singapore.

I own a house in the states (and my wife is on the deed too); also own a car there, health/life insurance, bank accounts, etc.

Is domicile going to be an issue for me? I've stated in a document that I plan to resign my job here in Singapore before issuance of the visa (which is true).

My intention upon returning to the states is most likely consulting and going to law school (I know I know)...

I have enough assets to easily support my wife - I don't really need the job.

Question - should I resign now to give my wife a better chance at the interview (end of September), or is this even going to be an issue with them? I plan on being at the interview with my wife at the Singapore embassy.

Thanks!

to me it sounds like a non issue and you sound golden either way, especially with the asset types

Anybody else? Need to know if I need to resign my local job here in Singapore to prove domicile in the U.S...

Not sure if a consular officer is going to believe that my domicile is in the U.S., or even if I (the petitioner) can reestablish domicile in the U.S., if I still have my job in Singapore at the time of my wife's (beneficiary) interview.

Is that true?

Thanks!

I have a similar situation with probably even more assets in the US (House, Land, Cars, etc..). My wife had her interview on Sep-9th. Refused under section 212(a)(4). The consular requested that I resign my job. "As per the interview, please provide a letter of resignation for your current job here in Saudi Arabia"

Good luck

Thank you for your reply - you don't know how much this has helped me. This is what I have thought all along, but no confirmation at all from anyone here - probably a rare occurrence as most petitioners are probably based in the U.S.

It makes perfect sense though... how could you have domicile in the U.S. if you are working overseas?

Thanks oryxeye!!!!
