USEM will use your 2012 ITR and W-2. If that is above the 125% PL for your family size, you are good. If not, then supplement with savings, life insurance, property, employment letter, etc. as per I-134 instructions.

my 2012 does not show im over poverty bcos i was in the philippines. but i currently make over poverty

Hi hennysemitara, they focused on current income. 28,800 is above the 125% poverty line--golden smile.png

did they calculate it as i did ?

Hello Thanks for posting your experience and congratulations o your approval! Wedding bell is ringing now, so best wishes!

BTW, I also have the same problem with my fiance's 2012 income reaching the income requirement on his ITR he got $28,844 but the 125% requirement for four household is $29,437 since he is petitioning me and my 2 kids that's why it makes it four. But he doesn't have any savings at the moment and likely no assets and we might not be able to get a joint sponsor. I am worried because our interview is coming soon next month. Please give me advice on what to do and i hope you could help me. God bless...

The best thing you can do is try to obtain maximum proof of assets to boost your income. Savings accounts, real estate, a second car, life insurance with a cash-out value, etc. If those things do not get you over the $29,437, then have a co-sponsor fill out an I-864 and hope USEM is on your side.

Hi hank,

I' m worried about our case because i can't reach the 125%... this year i will only earn 20k and all in all we will be 3 in the household... but the reason why i can't reach the minimum was that last 2011 i got pregnant with our first child and due to my pregnancy i need to stop working from fed 2012 to july 2012... my 2012 tax return was only 18k... and this year i went on a vecation for 2 months in cebu and that's why i'm short... do i need to make a letter stating this reason why i can't reach the minimum income? But my sister is willing to co sponsor my fience which she earn 60k+ last year she is an lvn... what other documents do we need to provide to prove that my sister is willing to help us out... she already have the i134 form, 2012 tax return, pay stub and back statement... what else do she need to give as prof?

It might help to explain why your income was short, but don't know what the CO will think.

As for a co-sponsor they need to provide the same forms and evidence as you.

There is some info in my link, follow the flashing arrow below

USEM can be very unpredictable with accepting co-sponsors with the K-1.

And i forgot to tell you i went to school to last year... my fiances interview would be in the last week of febuary, are they going to look for the 2013 tax return or the 2012? And do you think the other affidavit of support the i-8 something would help us?...

Which tax return depends on whether you have filed your 2013 or not. ;)

Many suggest including the I-864 with the I-134, the I-134 is the required form but some have gotten positive results by having the I-864 also. It is just one more form so I don't think it hurts.

Is it me and my cosponsor that would have to file up that form? Do we need to send it in to uscis too?

USCIS is only for the petition they has nothing to do with the visa application, only the embassy requires the financial information.

The co-sponsor and you both complete the forms and provide tax returns and W-2s
