I thought it would be a rare occurrence but have seen some examples on VJ and a few people my wife has met in the US who were obviously bar girls in their past life. It makes me wonder if the guys actually know it and look the other way or if they are oblivious. The dating sites are full of them, which might not be an automatic red light but certainly ups the chances. There is of course the "they are people too" argument, or the "if you were in there shoes". I just don't see how any marriage can be anything but a long time John after someone has done something like that. They should have a course like CFO for US citizens to make sure they know what they are getting into. One of my buddies here married to a Thai girl thinks you have to meet the girl through family already here in the US, I don't agree with that. But I've seen more than I thought I would in the short amount of time my wife has been here.

Yeah with all my posts I'm sure I'm trolling. Don't be mad because I struck a nerve... I just am posting an observation I found with meeting a couple pinay recently here on K1's. Maybe someone will benefit for thinking or asking more about what warning signs could be. Niblet came with a very reasonable response that certainly makes sense, and if you were to pick a working girl from any country you'd probably have the best chances with Philippines. Maybe if I form a friendship with any of these guys that have married obvious bar girls I will be able to ask them why, and maybe they will have an answer like Niblet. Or maybe they will never talk to me again... ha ha.

Well lets face the facts,,during the Clark Air Base days the bar industry was huge,,I'm talking hundreds of little bars,,for several years I never went more than 3 miles from the main gate of the base

because everything I needed (beer and women) were conveniently located next to the base,,thousands of GI's married bargirls,,I know one guy who married a straight up bar girl..

ran into the guy 20 yrs later and he was still happily married! I brought a guy over to the PI once in the late 90's,,he literally married the FIRST girl that sat on his lap,,no joke!

he is still married to her today and they live in Alaska!

I have no problem with bar girls getting married. I'm sure they didn't grow up dreaming of that job; I would say it is just how their life worked out. I pity them more than anything.

I have more of a problem with the girl who has multiple foreign boyfriends. There are girls who can string along multiple guys, each one sending money because he thinks he's the only one. At least the bar girl is honest about the situation.
