Hello, VJrs! My husband and I are starting to gather the documents that we need for our I-130 package, and we're confused about some things. When they say you need to include photos to show a bona fide relationship, do they mean just photocopies of photos in black & white, or scanned copies of photos and printed out in regular white paper, or actual photos on photo paper? If they meant actual photos, how do we present that in the package -- do we staple them in regular white paper or do we have to do anything special? Please help!

We just printed them on white paper in color, four to a page. I beleive that is all they really need as we havent reseved any RFE's yet and hope not to...lol. We are still early into the process awaiting our NOA2. Hope this helps

I didn't send any pictures of us, just copy of our wedding certificate, joint bank statements, rental agreement, bills in our names. Black and white or color is fine.

Thanks for your reply! Im just wondering, when did you file for your i-130? Do you know anyone else who have done the same thing with the photographs? We are just confused coz we tried researching for an answer to it on the internet, but so far we haven't found any that really specifies whether printouts on white paper are accepted or not. We do hope that yours was sufficient and that you dont receive RFEs; nobody in the same situation would want that, so all the best to you and keep us updated with your own progress! =)

Thank you for the information. It helps to at least know that couples were successful with getting their i 130 approved with how they went about with the documents coz that gives us more knowledge about how to go about with ours. In our case, since we're newlyweds (got married July 31, 2013), we still dont have any joint accounts, bills under our names, etc, except for our marriage certificate. So with this, we thought the best way to prove that our relationship is bona fide is to send documentation of our love story, hotel vouchers, plane tickets, and chat conversations. Do you think that is enough in our case?

Honestly scanned copies on 8 X 11 paper is best. Remember someone has to pull your petition apart and scan every single page you sent in. And as I was advised by a lawyer an easy petition makes the customer reps happy.I

scanned to paper and had bales beside or underneath each photo with names of everyone in picture and dates and what was happening.

Long as you don't send a album or binder or plastic protectors (they will either reject them and send it right back or toss it).

I also used scanned photos, 4 or 5 to a page, printed on regular, plain white paper. Photos had a date stamp and I added who was in each picture, where it was taken, etc.

I printed out 2 sets...1 to go with the I-130 and the other set my wife has so that she can take it to her Embassy interview...(if it ever gets scheduled ! LOL !!!)

I made collages out of our digital photos. My hubby printed 'em in letter-sized photo papers. We submitted 3 pages.

We got an RFE but not for the photos. :)

We created a PowerPoint template of 6 photos per page (2x3 portrait). On the lower part of each photo had the names of each person in the photo, the 'title' of the photo, for example "Day of Engagement at such and such a place". Also, the date of the photo in mm/dd/yyyy format.

If you use PowerPoint, you can use an image template, copy/paste for all 6 and then re-open the template as a document and drag/drop photos from your computer to the template. Was super easy and simple and let's you do a lot of photos in very little time and the results look very professional.

Printed out on high quality 'letter' sized paper, one sided print.

On the first page, I listed "Evidence of Bonafide Marriage" with each document listed including the PowerPoint photo album I created. As in "1) Photo album 2) House deed with both names listed " etc.

Our I-130 was approved in less than 4 months with no RFE.

We haven't had our I-130 approved yet (no RFE's yet either), but I did cut and paste digital pictures into MSWord (Photoshop would work too), with a typed description above each picture, "Who, Where, What, Why", and printed it on good quality (slightly thicker than normal) white paper.

I also did a documented timeline (as proof of bona fide marriage), with cross references, to either pictures, as above, or copies of receipts/airline tickets/messages/emails/joint health insurance, etc., or whatever proof related to the specific bullet point on the timeline. It takes some time to put everything together properly, but I think it will be worth it. I don't think there are any hard and fast rules on what or how to submit your "story", so I suggest make it legible, straightforward and self-explanatory.

Our priority date is 16 May 2013, and we both sit (not so) patiently 16,000km's apart!

I think if a couple can survive this journey, then they can do anything. This is not for the faint-hearted!

Good Luck :-)

we didn't send photos yet when we submitted I-130. I brought it on the day of the interview. The lady who checked my documents asked for them and handed her 3 albums (hehehe)...including with our baby's photos. Well that's what I did, coz the more supporting documents and evidences you can present the better.
