We have to get our I-864 stuff sent in ASAP and need some guidance.

We are using a co-sponsor.

She is the dean of a school.

We told her to be on the safe side we need 3 years tax returns with photocopies of W2's and 6 months of photocopies of her monthly bank statements and 6 months photocopies of pay stubs and an employment letter stating her title, whether employment is part time or full time and her salary.

Also the notarized I-864.

She has agreed and has everything ready.

Do we need to get ALL those documents notarized or ONLY the actual I-864 ?

Will they accept regular photocopies of all the stuff I detailed above or does any of it need to be the originals ?

She can provide us with the originals as backup to take to the actual interview if needed.

My petitioner will also send 3 years tax returns and pay stubs although they will not meet the requirments with his notarized I-864. We are married with 3 US citizen children. I am Canadian and went over to US for the birts of all 3 children. We are now in US on K3 visa.

Please advise about the documents and photopies and notarizing etc so we can hurry up and send this stuff into the NVC.

Oh one final thing. My hubby filed a 2005 tax return and then 1 month after he filed an ammended return. Which do we send ? He doesnt have the originals. We have to order transcripts. Will the transcripts show the filed return info AND the ammended return info or are they two separate things we have to order or what ?

All too confusing.

Thanks

Nothing needs to be notarized, read the instructions with the form, it states that signing the form is swearing under threat of perjury that the copies of financial documents are true copies.

Are the Affidavit of Support forms required to be notarized?

No. The sponsor just has to sign the form. You should know however, when the sponsor signs an Affidavit of Support form, he/she certifies that the information provided, transcript and/or photocopy of tax documentation is true and correct, under penalty of perjury.
