What Randy posted is correct for the IV unit entrance. Non Immigrant entrance is on the left side of that building.

IV and NIV is in the same building, left side if IV and right side if NIV.

We had to book an appointment for ACS and show our passports and appointment confirmation email to into the building.

By "entrance", are you referring to the spot marked "A" on Darnell's map, or do you mean the entrance to one of the buildings inside the compound?

When you say "consulate" - is everybody in the same building, or are there separate IV and NIV buildings? I believe you're referring to the "Great Hall" building - yes?

Thanks a LOT for responding - anything you or others can help with would be (and is) appreciated.

As an aside, though, American citizens should be allowed access at all times simply by showing their passport - but of course you can't do that if you given it to your other as proof of your presence.

Can't edit my post anymore, but I mean the IV entrance is on the left side of the building, and the NIV is right side.

Thanks, Davey. Helpful info

I did hear back from Eunice, who said,

Hello Randy,
Thank you for your email.
I've been there several times but never went inside.
We just go to Zhujiang New Town through metro subway Line 3 or Line 5. Exit B1 faces the consulate. The right side is for non immigrant visa applicants. The left side is for immigrant visa applicants and US citizens, and who go to USCIS, adoption.
I didn't ask about the layout. My clients never got lost as there are signs and consulate staff there.
Take care.
Eunice
P.S. Anyone who wants to go there, can call me at nnn nnnn nnnn

So I figure people who go there have other things on their mind, and are more than adequately herded around by the guards, crowds, and any signs that are in place.

If anyone else going there can provide additional information, I'd appreciate it (and I'll share what I find) - but otherwise, it's your day (and your life) - best of luck to you all.

Randy,

Yuan, emily, and I will be there sometime in the next month when we apply for her SB-1 Visa. Due to them messing up her I-131 and making it only good for one year instead of 2. I assume that With My and emily's US passport and Yuan's GC we should be able to get into the area pretty easily for the Friday 8am open application time.

I want to try to find a hotel near there and do a walk by the day before and snap a few pictures.

Heard back from someone on CFL candleforlove.com that the spot marked 'A' is indeed the entrance - what I'm thinking now is that the SMALLER building (at the tip of the red arrow) the first one on the right as you walk in at the red arrow is what we have seen referred to as "the consulate".
