Is it more favourable if my partner comes to the interview with me? I would like him to if possible. We'll be together in London on September 30th, so maybe if I call, I will be allowed to schedule my interview for that day?

I'm looking around to find the number to call but I don't really know which department to contact about this. Not sure if I call London or DOS or NVC or someone else. But I've also read on here about a contact form that can be used to do this, but I can't find it now.

Any tips would be really appreciated!! :)

Hi !

Unfortunately, it will be almost impossible to get someone on the phone.

My first question is: were you assigned an interview date and did you receive the letter?

I think they assign the dates as opposed to you, choosing one.

When you do get the letter, you can ask to have your partner's name added to the list by filling in this contact form :

http://london.usembassy.gov/niv/visa_contact_form.html

By the way, it's always nice to have your partner with you at the interview but it is normally not a requirement.

Hope this helps,

Best of luck

Partner with you or not makes no difference to London. The best way to ask to be considered for a specific date is to include it when you send the DS-2001 Readiness for Interview form. Give a good reason...and enough lead time and it might be considered. Those saying "I have my wedding in 3 weeks" is not enough lead time. London may not have an opening.

I also like the idea of the DS-2001 going in separately as the last thing to arrive. They read your request, see that the other things are there and your request is fresh on their mind when you are actually eligible to interview.

On the other hand, those that push it by sending the four application forms AND the DS-2001 together before London has even set up the file from NVC....well any special requests could be forgotten because without the other things (forms and medical) in place they can't act on anything yet so your pleas for something special are a bit premature. Just a thought.

You should use the contact form to inform them that your fiancé would like to attend the interview with you and will be in London Sept 30 so that date would be really good if they would allow you interview that day. Give the full name. Also remind them that your forms were in two weeks ago, your medical was completed on Aug 14 and you have all documents in hand and are fully ready to interview. You might also indicate if you fiancé will attend on any alternate date if they can't give you Sept 30. You might get lucky. They aren't replying to emails so much lately either.

Thanks all... they do have my DS-2001, and my online status says ready for interview, but I haven't received notice yet of the day they've scheduled for me.

I'll try the contact form! I guess the worst they can say is no!
