I'm wondering if any of you have actually been checked up on at home (that you are living together etc) ? (i only ask because i'm a bit paranoid . . . i'm a traveling musician and i'm afraid they are gonna show up and see that i haven't been home for several weeks and its not going to look good) .....

or is this just a rumor ?

No, they (I am assuming you mean an employee of USCIS) don't go to your home (unless they are friends of yours and you invited them).

Not quite true Jane.... There have been a couple of visits by the USCIS but when the people on this board reported them it generally had something odd going on, the last one I read about thinks that someone who had a grudge against the couple was the reason but again there is no way they would be told why they were visited.

Lobetrotter, you would probably have to be very very dodgy on everything to get a visit, I presume that the resources for home visits are pretty thin. I think while you are away from home with your work, it wouldnt matter since the rest of your gear is there and just an explaination of where you are from your wife would do....

I am about to lose my husband for most of the week as he is getting transferred with his work to the next state over... they will put him up in a hotel until we can find somewhere to live, I will finish things up here while we both look for a house over there. but I am most certainly not worried about any visits or what to say if visited, while he is away.

Kim and James are correct you can have a home visit if they feel that the marriage is not legitimate or someone has contacted them with concerns as well. Visits seem to only happen when something or someone initiated the visit.

The last one was a call to a wife that someone had a grudge against the couple and they had to go to their local USCIS the very next day with proof of their relationship. Even after they had this interview it did not stop the one they had to do for AOS unless something changed and I have not seen an update.

Everything I respond to is from personal knowledge, research or experience and I am in no means a lawyer or do I claim to be one. Everyone should read, research and be responsible for your own journey.

Not true, some friends of mine were visited at their home by either USCIS or ICE officers. Their case probably looked bad though as the husband had lived illegally in the USA for 8 years prior to marrying a USC. Their marriage is real however, so it wasn't a problem.

Oh i'd definitely say "Sure, come over the house! What do you want me to make for dinner?" :)

I would be more than happy to show how happy we are to be finally together! lol

I guess if you got nothing to hide it shouldnt be an issue when you can prove that one is outside for a while because of work.
