Me and my fiance mailed off our paperwork on 11/27/06 for a K-1 visa. :clock: We did the paperwork all on our own and I hope that I did OK. I haven't seen him since May of this year and it has been horrible. I feel like a part of me is missing. I miss him so much. I am American and he is Australian. I just pray that this process will be as painless as possible. I can't wait to be his wife and start our lives together, as we have spent too much time apart as it is already.

Hang in there! I too will be filing for the K1 Visa in the next couple of weeks. It is hard to be apart but as long as the communication stays open by any media and remain focused on the happiness that awaits you, you will be fine! My fiance lives in Jamaica and last time I saw him was September and I won't be seeing him until he comes to Arizona. Good luck and may you have a speedy approval!

Yes, this process can seem interminal. I know exactly how you feel! I'm 41 days into it, and probably another thirty till NOA2. I keep hoping my case will somehow not take so long. Now the holidays, need I say more? Oh well, tomorrow will make 42 days. Just have to be patient I guess. At least we found Visajourney.com, right? I'm sure everyone reading this post understands that it's difficult to find empathy when dealing with a K1 visa.

Thank you all! What keeps us going is the pay back in the end. If there was a way to pay more money and speed it up, we would do it. I kind of wish I would have found this place before I sent off the paperwork. I wonder now if I sent enough information that proves our relationship.

I'm sure you sent enough, and if not, an RFE barely takes any time in most cases.

Actually if you tell us what you sent, we can probably reassure you you did everything just fine (although every adjudicator/case is different and you can send in a mountain of evidence and the wrong adjudicator will RFE you anyway).

In any case, welcome aboard! :)

Pulteseller,

this week we had 22 petitions approvals so far. There are 2 weeks to go before the holidays, try to lighten up a little.

At least we found Visajourney.com, right? I'm sure everyone reading this post understands that it's difficult to find empathy when dealing with a K1 visa.

I have to disagree with you on that one. That is what VJ is all about, people that went or are going through the same process as we are, and are willing to share their knowledge to help us, lend us a shoulder to cry on when things get tough, cheer us when we get tired and share our happiness when we complete each step of the way.

The test of courage comes when we are in the minority. The test of tolerance comes when we are in the majority.

I also wish you the best of luck. I understand how you feel- there isn't too much empathy out there..Our friends can sympathize..but no-one really understands what we're all going through. That's why I think VisaJourney is amazing..everyone is going through the same thing..we can all push eachother through this..it is so tough at times, but try keep your head up high, and as you said- focus of the fact that you will be together, and when that time comes, it will be forever. I am praying for each and every one of you on VisaJourney..that this process goes speedily for all of us!! Hang in there, and keep strong!

Congrats on starting your journey, Moonie! Just sit back and relax... if there's anything CSC needs from you they'll ask for it, and there's nothing you can do about it til then anyway. Did you pay by check? If so, watch your online banking account. When the check clears you can view the back of it and get your reciept number, then you can set up an online account with USCIS to check your case status.

I took that sentence as meaning it's difficult to find empathy among our friends/families because they don't understand what we're going through. They can try, but they don't really know... but everyone on VJ is going/has gone through it, too, so the folks here on VJ can understand in a way that our friends and families can't. I could've taken it the wrong way, though. :)
