To renew my EAD I need proof that my AOS is being processed but we do not know the results of our interview at this point.Would an old NOA dealing with the AOS be alright? We had the interview the day after the big storm in St.Louis and they didn't tell us anything. They requested more evidence from us but it was evidence that had already been sent. Now we have no more information, other than that we should wait.We still don't know if we are approved for the AOS.Should we try to renew the EAD?or keep pushing them for more information? If the AOS did not go through successfuly can we still get the EAD while we appeal? we just wish that there weren't so many power outages in St.Louis...maybe that would help our case.

thanks for the help!

First, if they requested more evidence - even if it was evidence they already had - did you send it? If not, they are waiting for its arrival. Occasionally (ok - not so occasionally, but quite often) they may misplace information from the file so if they request something they already have, just resend it rather than let them figure out they already have it. Second, if your EAD is expiring/has expired and you wish to renew it, you do need to reapply for a renewal EAD. Include the NOA1 from your AOS application to show it was submitted. If you have not responded to the RFE for the AOS, however, the EAD application may also be in limbo until the AOS decision is made. If they make a decision without the requested additional information it may be denied in which case the EAD would also be denied or no longer valid at that point. Maybe an infopass appointment would be a good idea - and bring with you the material that was requested for the RFE just in case that is what is holding everything up.

“...Isn't it splendid to think of all the things there are to find out about? It just makes me feel glad to be alive--it's such an interesting world. It wouldn't be half so interesting if we knew all about everything, would it? There'd be no scope for imagination then, would there?”
