Congratulations, Im glad they didn't give you a hard time about your taxes. As long as you did tell them that you have some kind of agreement with IRS to ay your taxes, that is good enough. I hope you hear something soon about your oath. Good luck.

oh thank you!about taxes, she actually asked me how did this happen that we owe taxes,i explained her in short what was going on without getting into details and told her:

-but a week ago we payed everything off and we don't owe anything to IRS anymore,i actually have the receipts"payed in full"from IRS and the copies,if you need them-just let me know...and for some reason she said:

-no,it is ok,i don't need those...

i actually wish she took them..that was weird,i thought, that she doesn't need a proof that everything was payed off.

i hope i will get my oath scheduled shortly.it's already getting way to long with baltimore.

I just came back from completing paperwork and application on site in Tucson, AZ for my US passport. I requested with family reasons (86 year old father in poor health in Canada) to have passport expedited, and paid the fee. Do take documentation of upcoming flights and details (I printed out an email about my father) if you want it expedited. I will have new passport couriered to me by Tuesday with my original Naturalization certificate. The officer/agent reassured me that they put it in a hard cardboard courier envelope, so certificate will be just fine. :-)

Congratulations IcyStar. One more step and it's complete :-)

Today The US had 215 new US citizens from 63 different countries in Louisville KY. The ceremony was awesome, it was a once in a life time event and it is something I will remember all of my life. My letter said that I had to at Muhammad Ali center at 9:30 in the morning. When I parked right in front of the center, we went me and my wife and my kids. Thinking that because I was a half hour early I would be from the first I found out that I'm totally wrong lol. There were a lot of people. We went to the sixth floor, we had to be separated, guests enter through one door and applicants to another door. I looked at my green card one last time knowing that those minutes are the last of being a permanent resident of the United States. Gave my card and my letter to a USCIS officer, to my surprise he poked a whole through it. and gave me package that had a passport application, a letter from the president, a constitution and a booklet that showed our rights and responsibilities as US citizens. The actual ceremony started at 11:00 AM. The judge welcomed us and he told us about the story of his great-great grand father who came from Germany in the 1900's. The Star Spangled Banner was sung by a little boy, beautiful voice. Then we took our oath of allegiance, that moment was awesome especially when we got done and everybody was clapping. I felt like I'm an American. We had a guest speaker from Berea College and then Ceo of Muhammad Ali center. We said the pledge of allegiance and then we were welcomed as citizens of the United States of America. We were handed our certificates and we registered to vote.

It was an awesome day, I wish everybody good luck and it is good to say Im a US citizen. dancin5hr.gifdancin5hr.gif

It was an awesome day, I wish everybody good luck and it is good to say Im a US citizen. dancin5hr.gif

Congratulations!!!!

Now I'm curious.... I'm also in Kentucky and as I understand I filed N-400 even before you did (I filed on Sept. 10, 2013). But I haven't heard anything from USCIS after my interview was approved on November 19, 2013, let alone invitation for the Oath Ceremony. I used to think that maybe they only have ceremonies couple of times a year in Kentucky and that's why I haven't gotten an invitation yet... I called USCIS about 10 days ago and they told me that Kentucky is still processing cases for July 2013 and that I would have to wait at least two more months for my case to get its turn!!!

But now you already had your Oath Ceremony, and you filed even later than I did... And now I have no idea what to think at all..... Starting to really worry here... Maybe there is a problem with my case....

What should I do? Should I call them again??

I would advice you to go and talk to them. I don't think the 1800# is going to help you much but if you go to the office they should know what's going on. By the way Louisville Kentucky has oath ceremonies at least once a month. I hope that helps

You mean I should schedule an Infopass or just walk-in there? I'm not sure what to do or where to go if I just show up there... And I'm also not sure where exactly 'there' is? Is that the same place where I had the interview?

Alright,B-more people,i passed my interview today at Koppers street,Baltimore.

was scheduled for 8.25am,but came over an hour earlier and was 17th for the fingerprints and identification.

The building is clean and nice and the parking lot is absolutely amazing, you don't have to struggle yourself with that,it' pretty much opened with bunch of parking lots.

While i was waiting for the interview,i saw many IO officers coming out to get people and take them to the interview room, most of the IO are pretty young, friendly and positive.

However i got older lady, who was pretty serious and didn't smile at all,she took me in and asked to swear and tell only the truth, she also mentioned she is going to film whatever is going on in the room.

She asked for my passport, green card and driver's licence, everything was kept in the huge binder with paperwork i prepared, she was impressed with it.Then she checked on my travel airport stamps and if the data is consistent with one i provided in n-400 form. I had my husband with me,so i took his passport and we compared few things, everything was pretty fine.

Then she asked me few questions on n-400,asked what i'm doing and what is my profession(i'm scientist),was impressed with that and said that i will most likely have my Oath of Allegiance in few weeks because of the name change.Right there i knew she was going to approve me.

She finished asking n-400 questions, and then got to the civics part,i answered everything correctly, spelled things correctly etc,

she asked few other questions like:

-will you bear arms for the United States if needed?

-will you be loyal to the United States and only to the United States?

-do yo swear you are going to respect the United States Constitution?

-do you like the political structure of the United States, are you willing to obey the laws?

Then she gave me the form, which says "congratulations you ave been recommended for approval",she also said-i approve your case, but you'll have to wait for the oath.

I left the room, for me it only took for about 15 minutes(if not less),she was very pleasant(didn't even need my payed off taxes receipts for the taxes we owed and that it is payed),and i'm happy with the way it went.

BTW,before i was called in,i've seen lots of people coming with lawyers, translators etc, many of them were crying while leaving the building.i guess things didn't go that well.

But overall, the office is great and friendly, don't be afraid.Hope my experience helps someone.

I guess now,my only concern is for how long is it going to take for B-more office to schedule my oath sad.png

Congrats! And thanks for the writeup. Hope you get your oath quickly :-).

Husband receive the oath letter mailed out from National Benefits center but wife received orange oath letter mailed from Boston office at different dates. The oath date is the same for both husband and wife. Wife's letter doesn't have A# and but does have a T# number.

I know this is probably not an issue but just wanted to see if others had something similar happen to them? T number sounds like a temporary file may have been created for wife.
