Just got home from Interview. WHEW! I passed and it is over wooohoooo!! I was given the opportunity to participate in big parade and Naturalization Ceremony at Estrella Hall this Saturday in Avondale and I took it! So relieved! I will update my dates and details of interview.

Updating from Interview today

My husband and I were there 20 minutes before 8:10am Interview time and I went back at around 8:45am. Very pleasant and welcoming officer. He started with confirming my details, swearing in, etc. and then test for English language reading and writing, and then quickly went to 6 test questions. Study it all!! After that he worked through my Naturalization application a page at a time confirming details and I was shocked at the size of the now five inch folder that was all about me!! While my husband was not able to go into the interview room with me, I do think it confirms your marriage for them to see you are a couple in person and the officer commented that he didn't need to go through as many details about our relationship for that reason.

I did explain to the officer my worries about Oath date as I would be travelling back to Canada again for a week in April as I have an 85 year old year old father with dementia in a nursing home. Officer wrote my travel dates down and left the room to see what he could do. I am very grateful that he came back with the invitation for me to join this Saturday's group for Naturalization at the International Celebration Tale of Two Cities in Avondale and Goodyear.

So close to being finished with the process and very excited for Saturday!

OMG! OMG! I just got the text message to say that my case is updated and to check the USCIS website...I am scheduled for the interview as at today. So excited! I guess now I wait for the letter to tell me the date. Baltimore is definetly moving along :-).

First check with the local office if they allow same day oath on regular basis. Some offices does do same day oath. Some regularly, some only if it is urgent. So no point dragging everybody to the interview if you do not get the oath the same day.

If you're field office is Baltimore, then you're right; they do offer same-day ceremonies:

"The Baltimore Field Office conducts same-day naturalization ceremonies, but there is no guarantee that your case will be eligible for such a ceremony on the day of your interview."

Baltimore is same day, same oath every day from everything that I've read.

Still awaiting on the letter on the official date, but I imagine it will be sometime in March. lol, I haven't tried to prep David at all (he is the UKC) because not knowing what is going on for months on end, it would have made me crazy. So I just decided to only start it when he got the letter. He probably already knows most of it though, as he's very politically inclined. He'll just need to learn stuff like the governor of Maryland and our state reps/senators.
