I just got a text saying that my status has been updated and as per the USCIS website I have been placed "in line for interview".

My field office is New York City since I live in NY. I just checked and the field office for Suffolk County is also New York City. Their processing times are 5.1 months or 5 months and 1 week, as per the USCIS processing times tool.

Thats nice, Now lets see when is gonna be next update for interview.

No Interview letter but got a yellow letter in the mail that freaked me out until Google'd the reason. The notice said that my application was reviewed completely and it was determined that additional documentation was required since I indicated that I was arrested and therefore should bring all documentation related to it.

Wrong! I indicated that I was cited for speeding and that the amount was below $500. $143 to be exact.

I'll be taking the original citation, payment receipt and traffic school completion certificate.

My 1 month anivassary was 11/12/13 and I didn't get a text for "in line for interview"...Wednesday 11/20/13 would make it a week of waiting. Did a walk in finger printing on 10/15/13. Using the Baltimore office. Really worried and getting nervous. Is this normal? Is the Baltimore office usually behind schedule? It's nerve wrecking. I am a September filer as well.

Oh we'll, panicked to soon, just checked the Uscis.gov website and I was scheduled for interview on the expected date of 11/13/13 but I never got the text message alert.

What is this yellow letter that other members mentioned? When I got my interview letter it simply listed a very few documents that I should take with me (green card, my passport, my spouse's birth certificate, original tax returns), and then there was a second page with a checklist with all the items, which is a standard form like the checklist you can find online. Am I supposed to receive a yellow letter?

Only some people get this yellow letter. So you do not have to worry as long as you got the regular interview letter.

I had received the yellow letter. It's from the field office. Mine had the same items asked for on the interview letter. They had no interest in it at the check-in desk. They only wanted to see the interview letter.

I wasn't worried about travelling in January as I know I can do it with my Canadian passport and that's what I've used for Vietnam Visa--I just want to be sure I can get back into USA when I come home if it is without my green card. I will have to figure out how I get a speedy passport if my dates get that close. I am eligible for naturalization on Dec 14. I thought things would take long enough that it would be like February before I got to that point -- I was someone that had my one year extension letter almost expire while waiting for my 10 year green card. Apparently not!

My wife is in the same boat. Her interview is on Dec 11, and we fly Dec 26. There is no time to do the oath, get the passport and then a visa to where we are going. Your best bet is to request postponement of your oath ceremony. That is we intend to do at the interview.

And had I known how quickly this would happen (4 months from application to citizenship, conceivably) we would not have even applied till after we return in late January; USCIS is not known for its timeliness.

Local office: Phoenix, AZ

2013-09-24 N-400 Naturalization application sent

2013-10-18 Biometrics

2013-10-22 In line

We're waiting for the interview letter. On the USCIS website, it shows she's in line for an interview and nothing else. It's been a month since her biometrics and almost a month since she was put in line for an interview. I think we'll hear from USCIS next week if not Friday..

So i have my I-751 interview tomorrow and I'm really hoping that they do the N-400 interview also. I have a very early appointment and I have yet to receive an in-line letter or an appointment for an interview. I've read of some people who this happened too, so I'm praying that it happens to me... So I can finally be done with this journey and move on with my life.

I have a very early appointment and I have yet to receive an in-line letter or an appointment for an interview. I've read of some people who this happened too, so I'm praying that it happens to me... So I can finally be done with this journey and move on with my life.
