APPROVED!!!

Interview was very quick and easy, got six questions right in a row and then had to read "What country is north of the US?" and write the answer "Canada is north of the United States."

Will be taking my oath some time in January!

Approved ! :) The wait was sort of long (about an hour, hour and fifteen minutes), but the interview itself was very quick and easy. It hardly last 15 minutes. No questions from N-400, except all those for which answer is "No", 6 easy history questions (really easy, no dates or names, just some commonly known stuff, like who is in command of US Army, or why first colonists came to America), and finally read and write (the California is the most populated state sentence, which I believe, somebody is listed here already. Seems like it is very popular among interviewers. :) ). The only weird part is, interviewer asked my wife what was the cause of death of my wife's first husband... That was really strange, maybe he was concerned with my life :))) But I suspect that the real reason is that certificate of death issued in Russia doesn't include cause of death, and US one, probably, do. At any rate, the interview is passed successfully and my wife was told, she should expect oath to be scheduled in one month or so. Oh and yes, from all the long list of documents, we brought, my wife was asked to present only two: taxes for the last year and copy of the death certificate of my wife's first husband.

Quick question: when we check the processing times on the USCIS website and it says 5.6 months, does that mean that it takes approximately 6 month from the date you filed (priority date) to the day you take your oath?

Goodness knows how it works. My wife's interview was on the 11th, and today, it is been moved to oath scheduling. Yours was earlier and there's no movement. And its the same office. Go figure!

Thanks for your information. yeah, I guess I should contact them. The interviewer told me I would get the oath letter within 30 days. Today, It has been 17 days already. I will give them a few more days. I just wonder if the online status is reliable or sometimes they just don't really care to update it after the interview.

My oath is tomorrow. Can I bring a couple of friends along? My husband will be going as well.

First of all: congratulations!

I believe you can invite a few people. At my oath (next month), there will be my wife, my boss, and a couple of friends flying in from the old country for the special occasion. I didn't ask the USCIS officer at my interview, but I am sure you can have a few guests. not sure if there are any restrictions as to how many guests per person.

There won't be any restrictions per se. When I did it (and I am in this forum on behalf of my wife), there was a peanut gallery in the back where the guests were, and the citizens were up in front. So don't worry about how many guests you may have.

I would read that as six months from when you turned in your N-400. Don't get it confused with the priority date; I think the assumption is that you are eligible, this is just processing time.

First of all "Congratulation" upon becoming USC, Allow me to ask you an outstanding quetion since you already been interviewed. The Cvic test is that based upon MCQs for an example:

First of all "Congratulation" upon becoming USC, Allow me to ask you an outstanding quetion since you already been interviewed. The Cvic test is that based upon MCQs for an example:

The Federalist Papers supported the passage of the U.S. Constitution. Name one of the writers.

No choise at all, IO doesn't give any option ... straight forward we are ought to record the answer? Please share the insights.

No multiple choice, just one straight answer. You only need to give ONE answer, unless the question requires more (a couple do), so just memorize one to make it simple and avoid confusion.

And I am officially a U.S. citizen! Ceremony was quite lovely. 164 oath-takers from 44 countries. Took around 2 hours. I was asked to report at 8:30 am and it started promptly at 10:00 am. I was far more emotional than I thought I would be and got quite weepy at several points. Good luck to everybody - may your journey come to an end soon.

At my interview on 12/16 (approved) I was told that the next oath ceremony will be 1/29. I actually saw that there is another ceremony on 1/8. I have not received any oath letter, nor has my online status changed. When should I expect to get my letter? I am kinda impatient to complete this step
